Cartier would be a solid back-up plan, but that's if the Spurs can't re-sign Danny Green. They need to be pursuing Erazem Lorbek, a back-up point guard and another big. They need to stop wasting time and resources on swingmen.

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (Updates 1st PG)
No way I let him go to the Suns. They have very little to give in a sign and trade. Match it and then see what happens. It's a 4 year deal, you have time to see if he changes his mind, or to trade him somewhere that can give you some good pieces. It's a ways off before your even close to a Dwight situation.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Honestly, if the Bulls are thinking about Fisher, they might as well just bring back Watson or offer JL3 more than the vet min. Hinrich would be good as he can play both guard spots and provide more SG depth once Rose is back.
I don't think Omer is coming back, even though Forman said they'll be signing players based off of "basketball decisions, not financial decisions". Yeah right.
I hope we can get one of these three, in this order of preference:
Roy, Lee, Rush
But even if we're at this point:
Rose/Hinrich/Teague
Rip/(Roy or Rush or Lee)
Deng/Butler
Boozer/Taj
Noah
we still need two more players just to get to the 12 man minimum
EDIT: So at least one more big, and then probably the man, the myth, the legend to get us to 12Last edited by Weeks; 07-03-2012, 10:56 PM.Chicago Bulls

Uh, they ended up with 2 top 10 picks and another young building block (Gordon) that they can retain. That ****ty *** group they would've received from Houston and Los Angeles would been nothing more than first round fodder or lottery bound. No franchise pieces and no all-star level talent amongst them. Only one still sour and believing that deal would help New Orleans are Laker fans.

Here's my feeling on the matter, and I think I had a discussion in the other thread about this.Honestly, if the Bulls are thinking about Fisher, they might as well just bring back Watson or offer JL3 more than the vet min. This season is a wash, before it even starts. However, we know Rose is coming back. Why are we even bothering filling a temporary hole when he have a GLARING hole at the 2 position that needs to be filled for the future. Sign Mike James back or JL3 for dirt and move forward.
Why are we not actively pursuing deals to pair a scoring 2 guard with Rose. This team doesn't need defense anymore. We saw that when we got eliminated from the playoffs bitterly 2 years in a row. Both were different circumstances, but essentially boiled down to us not being able to put the ball in the basket AT ALL.
It would really be foolish to waste any money on Rush/Lee/Hinrich unless we planned on making another move to get a scorer. None of those players help us in the slightest offensively.
Hell, I'd rather pick up Nick Young, who won't play a lick of defense but at least is a threat to throw up 30-40 points on any given night and can actually get his own shot. He might be inefficient, but playing with Rose and the right staff around him, combining with Rose would be a dangerous back court and one for the future. His shot selection would definitely improve.
I just really don't see the point of wasting our time with bench guys that aren't going to get us over any hump in the east. Can you honestly say any of those 3 guys, when Rose comes back is going to help us get to the Finals? No chance.Last edited by JODYE; 07-03-2012, 11:06 PM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Seriously, I won't root for my Spurs next year if they sign that has-been Derek Fisher. I hope you're just speculating and there isn't truth behind your post.

Yeah, I agree with everything you said. I'd definitely prefer Young over all those guys (I think Roy could end up being good though). Here's my feeling on the matter, and I think I had a discussion in the other thread about this.

Thing is GarPax aren't going to make those moves because they don't want to get into the luxury tax, even though they said basketball, not financial decisions.
So I'm thinking in a more realistic perspective of what will happen in terms of the mindset of our FO, instead of what I think should be done to win.
Trust me, give me nick young over any of the guys we've been talking to. Just won't happenChicago Bulls

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (Updates 1st PG)
Haha, no. I just REALLY don't want the Bulls anywhere near him, so hoping you guys would take him off our hands.
I'm just not putting a lot of stock in a guy who hasn't played a high level of basketball in over 2 years. That's not even taking into account if he can walk for a whole season. I know the way you are looking at it though.Yeah, I agree with everything you said. I'd definitely prefer Young over all those guys (I think Roy could end up being good though).

If they didn't want to get into the luxury tax, they shouldn't have invested nearly 70% of our cap space on 3 guys who aren't all stars, and outbid ourselves on Luol Deng in 2008 when he would have hit the open market. That's beside the point. Contracts can be rid of. Really don't see the point of retaining Boozer another season. If Deng or Noah aren't going to be moved, then Boozer needs to be amnestied. He's handicapping us from making moves we NEED to make. Go after Young, bring back Kirk to back up PG and get a big and call it an off season. Think a guy like Mahimi would step in nicely to Asik's role. Everybody wins!Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles
