Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
The one knock on Martin's scoring here is that he tends to disappear in clutch moments.
In that he'd score a good chunk of his points in the first 3 qtrs and then kinda trail off as the game goes on. It's not going to matter there though, Houston was relying on him to score late in games and obviously OKC wont.
I don't really think Houston got robbed or anything or it's going to take some time to determine whether or not they did. Lamb could be anything at this point including a bench depth player. He certainly didn't impress much during preseason as much as other rookies did here and most were already ready to send him to the NBDL. I still think he's going to be a good player though but I'm not worried that we gave up a all-star caliber player or anything.
I'm more worried about the picks honestly. Although Toronto has looked solid in preseason.Comment

Considering that OKC still has their starting SG, and Martin could easily be re-signed to a reasonable contract, Lamb has plenty of time while Martin and Thabo continue to be one of the best SG combos in the NBA.Too Old To Game Club

OKC got big balls, this is a good trade for both teams though.Comment

I can't think of a guy off the top of my head they could trade him for. But if Lamb plays good, I would think they would look at it because they don't have the cap room to sign anybody unless they amnesty Perkins."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
I guess to me:
1. They won't win the title if they have to tinker with their roster again at the deadline. That would be way too much chemistry issues to deal with
2. I don't think Lamb is going to play to the level where Martin can be expendable. He's only a rookie. They can't depend on a rookie to provide championship level performancesComment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
You have a point, however he will be the 3rd option now, and he won't have to face any double teams at all. He won't have to chuck shots anymore, maybe that'll help him bring his field goal percentages up. He can still get to the line and can still shoot from beyond the line. OKC could use that.Comment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
I agree with both your points. I'm just thinking of all possible scenarios for why OKC made the trade. I have no idea what to expect from Lamb and I don't know what to expect from Kevin Martin.I guess to me:

I also don't have a problem with Harden getting his money now. He can go chase a ring if Houston isn't good when he is 28 or 29, assuming he is healthy."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
Crazy deal. OKC should be about the same IMO though. Harden puts up about the same sort of numbers Martin does. Harden is just a better defender and creates offense a little better. Kevin Martin has always been underrated. Dude can make buckets.
Someone else said earlier, Thabo is there to play D for them. Harden wasn't out there to lock people down. He was there make it happen on offense. Houston got practically nothing besides Harden. OKC gets Martin (who's contract ends after the season), and one of the top prospects in this last draft in Lamb. Plus picks.
I think K-Mart would fit pretty well. It'll take some time to gel with KD and Russ, but they'll get the hang of it.
Houston gets a legit guy as well. I see it as a win-win.Link to my NBA 2K13 2010-2011 Roster:

I'm pretty sure 4 years is the max available to RFA's, so it seems like this was just about him wanting max dollars.
I have great respect for GM's/organizations that are decisive about player personnel decisions. Sometimes it works out for them, sometimes it doesn't, but they don't get paralyzed and afraid to make a firm choice thus letting players hold them hostage. One way or another they bite the bullet quickly and move forward.
Westbrook is now going to be under unbelievable pressure to exorcise "Bad Russ", now that Harden, their best facilitator/decision maker on offense, is gone.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
I'm sorry, but Harden IMO is a clown the more I hear about this story. Six million dollars was the difference between playing in the best basketball city in the league? Smh
The final offer by the Oklahoma City Thunder to James Harden was a four-year, $54 million contract.
Harden could sign a max offer of $60 million over four seasons.Comment

Hope the 6 million dollar man is ready to pay the price for this
