Also Mark Cuban decided to let his free agents walk instead of resigning them and making a major push at defending the title. So is he also Sarver like or worse since he actually won and decided to save money with your logic instead of win titles??

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
Admittedly, I don't know who that is. What exactly did he do?
And yeah, I should have clarified that they were on the road to a dynasty if they stayed the course.
Sold draft picks, let star players or guys that played a big role on the team go(traded Kenyon Martin back in 2004 for 3 1st rd picks because he refused to pay him)broke up the Jason Kidd/Vince Carter/Richard Jefferson team because he wanted to win very cheaply. A team that was basically a perennial playoff contender(in a weak Eastern Conference)from 2001-2007.
And who knows if they just stopped themselves from being a potential dynasty. I mean it's easy to say that NOW and play armchair GM and say they're done or are no longer serious contender. There were no guarantees either way so who knows what'll happen.
They honestly remind me of an NBA version of the Packers, with how they go about developing their team and the players on it and making smart moves(they're not perfect at it and no team is)while still keeping their team competitive and I think eventually it will pay off in the long run. That's why I don't necessarily agree with Clay Bennett being the next Robert Sarver just off this one move when Sarver has a history of basing player personnel decisions on whether or not it's going to cost him alot of money. Come to think of it, plenty of Owners over the history of the game have done what Bennett has done so that's also why I'm not willing to put him in that category of penny pinching.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 10-31-2012, 08:37 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Originally posted by z4ckdabeastRussell Westbrook is not making the max. Ergo, even if they signed Harden to the max, they still would not have been paying three players the max, so stop saying that. I don't know how many ways I need to say this for you to understand it.
Besides, it's silly to center your argument around the word "max". A max contract for James Harden is less money than a max contract for LeBron James or Joe Johnson.
Huh? Since when does trying to sign Deron Williams = trading James Harden?
How could you possibly accuse Mark Cuban of being cheap? Have you ever looked at a Dallas Mavericks payroll? Do you know how many overpaid stiffs I've had to watch start at center for the Mavs? Say what you will about him, but Cuban isn't cheap by any means, lol.
You completely missed the point on Cuban. I never called him anything I simply asked you a question using your logic. You asked who threw away titles for cash. I simply asked does Cuban fit your logic since he did actually win and instead of resigning guys he let them walk. I completely understand why he didn't resign them even after missing out on Deron and it is a somewhat similar move to a lesser extent of what OKC just did. But again you missed the point so no need to take that topic further.
On another note your young guys looked good last night. Big win to start the seasonComment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
Harden in his first game as the #1 option definitely looked like he deserved max money. Carried his team for a win to the tune of 37 points 12 assists 6 rebounds 4 steals. The 4th player in history to ever have that kind of stat line.
The other 3? Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, & Dwayne Wade."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

I'm thinking Toronto is going to regret that extension for DeRozan... Sorry, that's still too much money for what I'd consider a slightly above average player. They're not contending for anything, and if they're pissed at ESPN for saying they suck... Well, it might be the ONLY thing ESPN gets right...
But that team is gonna struggle to make the playoffs, and you don't give that kind of money to a guy like DeRozan - bet half the GM's in the NBA wouldn't have done that. The other half? Well, that's why they stink too...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

That being said...
It's just that we get sick of these "1st time since" stats that BSPN pulls out of their *** to make a guy or story bigger.
Remember Linsanity and all the "it's the first time since" stats that were dropping left & right?
Kinda like that, tons of hyperbole & fluff to make someone the next greatest thing. It gets old... fast.
I guess to me it's more of a BSPN thing that I get sick of. Definitely not hating on Harden.Comment

I guess you're right, but unless ESPN is making this stuff up, it shouldn't make it any less impressive. I personally didn't think he'd have a game like that.
It does make me think he can be successful being the #1 option, especially if the team is sharing the ball like that.
Lin also played well +23 and 8 assists while on the floor. When your backcourt distributes the ball like that, you're going to win ball games."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment
