So adding one of the best young 5-tool players in the league is not a "Step in the right direction"? Cmon now.

And if you think Lin and Harden where entirely about winning, then I guess you dont understand the NBA. These guys want to make money, and getting this kinda buzz puts people into the seats.

But regardless, I find it hard to think that the team is not improved. But maybe your a Harden *****.

Im not here to argue with you about anything.. .the next time I'll just let your post go unnoticed because I really dont feel like dealing with any garbage like this today

Im not really sure where my post delved into the realm of you getting so angry about it. I think i stated what I "thought" they were doing.

Actually, I guess I didn't need to say anything about "Understanding the NBA". Unnecessary on my part, sorry.

Im not angry, I just said im not arguing

You assuming if my post asking you a question had anything to do with if I like Harden or not had nothing to do with anything at all

I think you just went a bit overboard

I get sick of coming on this forum and guys can't just have a conversation without somebody going completely south for no reason sometimes

I asked this earlier and I will say it again. How exactly could we have got in on the Harden thing?? We had less than a zero percent chance of topping or even coming close to that Houston deal.

Being one of the most talked about teams in the pre season does nothing for us. The Bulls will have butts in the seats regardless. Making moves like over paying marginal or above average players or making trades to give guys the max and slightly improve your team will not help us. We tried those moves with the likes of the contracts we gave Ben Gordon and Luol Deng and let's not forget the stupid over priced deal we gave Ben Wallace. Those moves got us nowhere. On the other hand building through the draft and not handing out over priced contracts got us to the conference finals the year before and who know where we go last year if Rose didn't get hurt.

I'm all for us making moves if it helps the team improve but I'm not for making moves just for the hell of it or just to be talked about. That doesn't win championships.

I guess I am of the mind that Harden is easily worth a max contract, and I think a backcourt of him and Rose for the foreseeable future would be great for the on Court product.

But my question was how exactly where we going to get in on that trade?? We had nothing to even come close to matching or topping that deal.

I would think a combo of Deng and Noah/Gibson plus some picks might have been able to get it done. Maybe we take on Perkins deal?

I really don't get the backlash on the Lin thing. He was the best PG available for this team after trading Lowry and after Dragic went to Phoenix. They think Asik is going to be a good defensive center (and so far he has been.) and they think Harden is going to be a all-star player. No all these moves don't make them a championship team right now but there isn't a single move that they could have made that could have done that in one fell swoop.

Also, Rockets released Lazar Hayward, JaJaun Johnson Jon Brockman, Gary Forbes, and Shaun Livingston. Surprised they let go of Livingston but if it meant keeping Machado then good.

Why would OKC want anything to do with Deng?? They have Durant at the 3 and Deng can't play the two so having him there would be pointless. Noah would have been pointless for them too as he makes more money than Perkins. So that would put them even more into the luxary tax.

That package is trash to them in their situation cause it's two positions they don't need and it doesn't give them anywhere near the options or flexability that the Houston deal does. Martin comes off the books at the end of the year if they don't want him, they get Lamb, and a excellent pick from Toronto that we had no chance of matching either.

My god... your Bulls team had a chance to win the championship last year, I don't get all of the criticism for the Bulls outside of Reinsdorf occasionally showing himself to be cheap.

Maybe, but i remember his sophomore year he put up big numbers for Kentucky. He always got the basket we needed, had a nice turnaround J, and he had a nice game with his back to the basket. He was a hoss on the boards too. He was an extremely hard worker, he shouldered the whole load that sophomore year. Unfortunately injuries really hurt him his first two years. And he kind of lost that aggression I think.

Granted, he didn't need to shoulder the load anymore with the star studded 09-10 team that Cal brought in. He wasn't as aggressive offensively, and played 3rd fiddle to Wall and Cousins, and primarily became a jumphooter, and expanded his range.

Although, the more I think about it, I'm going overboard on the all star talk. He's not athletic or big enough to make that big splash in the NBA. But, at the time I though he had the will to really become a very good NBA player.

Because your question was answered pages ago, but since you don't agree, you continue to ask the same question, which continues to same discussion - Now, allow me to explain what Houston is doing, and this isn't meant as sarcasm - It's called 'Improving.'

                            That's what Houston is doing.

Some people may prefer Lowry/Martin to Lin/Harden - But I don't recall Lowry/Martin taking Houston anywhere - they're simply not good enough. At the very least, Houston took a different road, which may or may not have the same results. They won't be winning any NBA titles either way. James Harden is a fine player, and a very good addition, though - and he's sure as hell more exciting, and has more upside than the glass cannon.
