      Sam Amick
I reached out to Mavs owner Mark Cuban today to get his lay of this decimated Mavs land after he missed out on Deron Williams and Steve Nash. Jason Kidd hadn't flown the coup just yet. Cuban, who created all this salary cap space by letting Tyson Chandler, JJ Barea and DeShawn Stevenson walk as free agents in the wake of his team's 2011 title last summer, said briefly, "It's better to miss out on the right player than to sign the wrong player."
So all of a sudden Cuban is a tightwad?

      I'm not buying it.

He gambled last year and lost.

He's gonna have to do something soon to keep Dirk happy.

Ok I got you. I would think vets who are financially set and want to win now would be looking there (kidd, allen, nash, grant hill) but I think most of these guys want to have cake(Ring) and eat it too(get most cash) leaving OKC in a bad place. Kidd,Hill would have been nice stabilizing pieces for them.

LOL. I think the kids reaction in the background represent OKC fans while the Prince represents Thabeet and his agent.

          Good for Thabeet............

I'm happy with the Kidd deal, I'd take him by more than a small margin over Felton. That deal was way out of LF, I never considered Kidd a possibility for a second.

With how wild this offseason has been so far I wonder if the Knicks will really go nuts and sign Felton as Kidd's backup and let Lin go.

Mark Cuban and the Mavericks were unsuccessful in their efforts to sign Deron Williams.

Dallas let Tyson Chandler and J.J. Barea go in free agency last summer in an effort to create cap space.

"It's better to miss out on the right player than to sign the wrong player," said Cuban

Sure, it's stinks. but doesn't DAL have Delonte West and Rodrigue Beaubois under contract?

and what's with all these 30+ Year Olds getting 3 YR contracts? Just seems odd.

                      Roddy B, yes. Delonte, no.

What are peoples thoughts on Raptors getting Lowry from Rockets? Rocket fans seem to hate it,but what pick are Raptors giving up? Is it top 5 protected, top 10 protected or what? If it's only top 5 protected, then I don't like idea so much of giving up possibly a 6th pick or something for a slightly above average PG(he's around 10-15th in NBA in many categories last year)
I like it a lot. I'm hearing the first year is lotto protected, but I have no clue on the other years.
