I'm just saying that Thornton is the more complete player...well, I'll amend that. Thornton is the more complete scorer. He moves off the ball really well (off screens and cutting to the basket for a layup), is a tremendous slasher thanks to his ball handling ability, and is not afraid to chuck a 3 with a hand in his face and make it at a 36% clip.

Rush is much better defensively due to his height and the effort he gives on defense. If I had to find a comparison to Rush it'd be old age Ray Allen. He can slash...but what you really want him to do is come off screens and shoot 3's.

As far as Nelson, I disagree. You can say Hinrich is about the same level now that Nelson is and look at the difference in money.
Even if they are the same level, then why change that up, especially Nelson is a year younger and you already know what you're going to get from him? It's not like you're asking him to become CP3 or Kyrie or John Wall, plus his contract is not that bad. Not understanding what the big deal is about the contract, especially since we've seen WAYYYYY worse get handed out which is not a surprise.

Anderson did well for them, why let go of him and keep Jameer? Only thing I can think of is that he wanted out because he was disgusted at how things were handled. You better believe alot falls on management when it gets this sloppy
No, their problem was caving into whatever demands the Idiot wanted aka Idiot wants Stan fired so he can stay, only for the Magic to fire him and yet the Idiot still wants out.

Your roster is screwed either way for the next few years once Dwight is gone. You resign Nelson to a short term deal as they did, you sell a couple tickets in Orlando with a name from the Finals run that Orlando fans like (obviously not as many tickets as with Dwight or to make up for the loss of Dwight) and in the meantime you can draft a point guard and let Jameer mentor him in his last two years there. The way y'all are talking you'd think they resigned the dude for 11 or 12 mil a year for four or five years or something.
        Exactly.

There were no better options or any upgrades that were going to come to Orlando so why not bring him back for basically $6 Mil, which is nothing compared to another guy who got paid for having a hot 3 week stretch in February and is also getting paid for reasons "outside" the game of Basketball.

True which was point #2 I was getting at... they screwed up by faltering to Dwight but at the same time I've seen this movie before. They always botch superstar situations...its not a wonder they've lost 4... after Shaq Penny was the aftermath and that didnt work, Tmac's aftermath is Dwight and that's gone sour as well

They've looked like an incompetent franchise as far as decisions go for a long time, including hiring a hockey guy to run the Gm's office.

I really like Minnesota signing Kirilenko.

Kirilenko loved living at home and playing in front of friends and family every night in Moscow. But the chance to play with Rubio, Kevin Love and under Adelman -- and that big pile of money -- was too much to pass up.

"It's a great team (they're) creating," Kirilenko said. "Kevin has really started to turn into a superstar this year. Last year, a lot of my friends were watching the games, especially Minnesota and how they play. It's very, very energetic and nice."

EDIT: I realize we already know he signed, I just hadn't read this before today.

Haha, I don't know, Nate dribbles the air out of the ball with the best of em, and when he's not doin that, he's usually shooting..

                  Good signing though.

Clippers add more depth, according to RealGM. Sheeeeesh

The Clippers have acquired Willie Green in a sign-and-trade agreement with the Hawks for Sofoklis Schortsanitis.

A nine-year NBA veteran, Green has averaged 9.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists over his career.

You're right, but instead he just takes a lot of aimless jump shots.

Signing also further reinforces my thought that drafting Teague was an absolute waste, seeing he's going to get virtually no burn now.

Is Chicago not feeling very trusting of Teague? I think he's going to be a pretty solid PG. Maybe just trying to have more of a veteran presence I suppose, but I thought they should've at least given Teague the chance to prove his worth. He's likely to not get much PT at all now barring injury to Nate or Kirk.

Teague is going to be a project, he still has a lot of work to do. He still young though so I expect him to improve.

So the goal of the draft now is to get guys that will start immediately and get tons of playing time? Teague wasn't going to see much of the court from the jump cause he isn't ready yet. Teague, plain and simple is a backup plan. If Derrick comes back and he isn't ready or his game has to be completely changed to the point that he becomes more of a shooter, you can now move him to the two with Teague as your point guard of the future. Or worse case scenario, Rose comes back and re-injures himself, you already have a replacement on the roster that can take over duties.
