He won't be a 20 points a night guy. He doesn't create his own shot good enough to make that kind of jump in scoring. His ball handling and attacking the basket just isn't good enough. He is more of a catch and shoot and play off others type of offensive player.

I'd say he'll average numbers close to what Ariza was averaging with the Rockets. Regardless, he will get his numbers. Can't really say the same for his shooting percentage though.Comment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)
But here’s what Hennigan accomplished: The Magic, in effect, got FIVE first-round picks, shed cumbersome contracts of two aging players and obtained a veteran with an expiring deal who can be traded.
This is the team-building exercise that Hennigan learned when he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder — build on draft picks — and it’s why the Magic hired him.I disagree with that, the thunder were able to build on lottery picks, not picks towards the end of the draft. They had KD #1 pick and then traded Ray Allen for Green essentially who became Perkins. Next Year they Drafted Russell. Year after that they get Harden. That's your core basically. All From Lottery Picks. Not from the end of the draft. This is what they are trying to say to make it sound like a decently respectable trade I guess.
I won't deny it, ORL got hose... check that, they hosed themselves. This trade just doesn't make sense, even I can admit that.
But it happened fortunately, and I'm definitely glad it did.Comment

It's funny to me. The Lakers don't even scare me (Knicks fan...I can't speak for the other teams).
I'm looking at their bench and depth...not their starters.
Their starters are so old that they're not going to just be dominating everyone. Miami's Big 3 is different because LBJ, Wade & Bosh are all in their prime. They beat alot of teams in transition.
The Lakers can't and won't do that. The Lakers will have to beat you in the halfcourt.
Are they as versatile as San Antonio? No.
Can their frontline defend like OKC? No.
Do they have better P&R play than LAC? Debateable.
It should be fun to watch but I don't think they'll dominate the league like some people think they will.
I don't know the extent of Dwight's back condition. But if it's anywhere near TMac's...he could be in for a long remainder of his career.
Nash already has back issues and players are never the same once they leave PHX's training staff.
Pau has to have a huge year and they need something from Metta because he looked like utter trash for most of last year.
This should be interesting.Comment

No one claimed that it was the worse trade ever, but that the Magic made out the worst haul of players & picks possible. They traded away their most valued asset (and a top 5 player) for bunch of low ceiling players and low-level draft picks.
They allowed themselves to be fleeced while the other three teams took in quality players. How to do trade an elite player and not come away with one stud (prospect, pick or player) in return????
Comparing baseball trades to basketball trades is a rather silly exercise. They're are far more roster spots in baseball and a far deeper farm system. Sometimes teams don't see the benefits of trades in baseball for years. In basketball the impact is felt a lot sooner.

And yea a few people in here claim this was the worst trade in history but I wasnt even basing my comment on that. I was speaking in general of what I am hearing from other media sources.
Btw, my team got Bynum and I am not even hype. I personally dont think the guy is going to be great in the future. So I understand Orl not wanting him or even a 7 foot center who cant rebound in Lopez.
People keep saying they had better offers but how official were they? Didnt Cleveland drop out of the Brooklyn deal? I thought it needed another team?
And the Houston deal was only better because they had a chance to get rid of those contracts, the draft pick from Tor was only a rumor. The crop of young players Houston was giving up were not better than Afflalo, Harkless nor Vucevic. Half those guys are DLeague talent.Comment

I agree with most of what you said, but MWP & utter trash doesn't really fit together. Pau has been utter trash this year with his lasy attitude but MWP gave it all on the court everytime. Is he streaky with his shooting? Yes. Does he run fastbreaks like LBJ? No. Does he dunk like Blake Griffin? No. But he's still the tougher laker on the court every night. It's funny to me. The Lakers don't even scare me (Knicks fan...I can't speak for the other teams).

If Dwight is healthy that front-line can defend just as good as OKC if not better. Dwight is such a good team defender. Orlando always ranked near the top in defense in the league with no good or great perimeter defenders because of Dwight.
Nash and Howard or Nash and Gasol could be just as good in the pick and roll as the Clippers or better."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

You probably saw more of MWP than I did. All I know is that when I did see him for the first 3/4 of the season...he could not hit a shot to save his life and his defense was subpar for his standards. Don't know if it was the lockout or what but he looked like he was at the end of his career.I agree with most of what you said, but MWP & utter trash doesn't really fit together. I'm sure if they didn't have such depth issues...he'd be Amnestied.

Dwight = Ibaka + Perk
Ibaka led the league in shot blocking and Perk...although on the decline...can still man up on D without any help.
The LAL are getting absolutely nothing from Pau on the defensive end.
And to you're point...yeah...I'm sold on Nash & Pau/Howard running the P&R. The LAL can run it...but can they defend it?Comment
