    Re: Your 5 Favorite Players?

I'm only 18 so I never really got to watch the golden era of basketball which is the 80's and 90's.

    but my favorite 5
    Rondo
    CP3
    Jason Williams
    Derrick Rose
    Brandon Roy

I know being from NY and a Knicks fan it's a sin for Rondo to be my favorite player but hey I can't lie dude is.

I love the PG position. That's why majority of my picks are PG, I really don't know why I'm fascinated with the position.

          Tough.

          Tracy McGrady
          John Wall
          Hakeem Olajuwon
          LeBron James
          Dwyane Wade
Jeremy Lamb (I got to hang out and chill with him back in our freshman year).

Can't think of anyone else at the moment.

Dwight Howard - Despite his drama with the Magic over the past few seasons, this guys game is LEGIT. Watching him improve from his rookie season to now has been something special. I look for him to dominate in the Lakers offense this year.

LeBron James - The man who can do anything and everything on the basketball court. If you don't enjoy watching him play games, you have a problem. If only he would utilize that post game.

Kevin Love - The BEST PF in the game hands down. I know Dirk gets all the love, but Kevin Love needs to get recognized. From rebounding, to defense, to scoring, this guy does EVERYTHING the Wolves ask him to do plus more. Legit MVP candidate

Rajon Rondo - The type of PG everyone should strive to be. Scoring, defense, assists, rebounds. He's a triple double machine and he shows it every night. Without him, the Celts wouldn't stand a chance.

Roy Hibbert - He made my list because well, I love a good big man. He's one of the up and coming stars in this game, and, if he can get his offense to match his defense he's gonna be something special for years to come.

Honorable mentions go to: Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kyle Korver

              -------------------------------

Now, my five favorite legends/retired players..

Michael Jordan - Honestly, why shouldn't he be number 1 on everyone's list here? What he did was absolutely magical on the court, it's hard to even fathom how good this man was.

Earvin "Magic" Johnson - I could easily say the same thing here that i did about Jordan. A man who could play any position on the court and play it well. A hall of famer from the moment he stepped on the court.

Hakeem Olajuwon - One word to describe him, smooth. His post game was and still in unparalleled. Hard to copy or even stop what he did in the low post. A true wonder to watch.

Allen Iverson - Ball hog? Sure. Sometimes hurt his team more than he helped? Sure; but one thing can be said about Iverson, he was a gamer, he loved winning, and he always put on a show when he was on the court.

John Stockton - The prototype. That's what I call him. When building a PG, what do you look for? Basketball IQ, passing abilities, defense, and the ability to knock down a shot. Stockton did it well, and made it look easy. No matter if you were a fan or not, you better had respected his game

I love that you love Love, but his defense is lacking still close to non-existent. It got better last year, but honestly it couldn't have gotten worse.

                      1. Tim Hardaway. His #10 jersey was the first NBA jersey I've ever owned. Watching him run tmc and cross people up before crossing people up was what everyone did.

                      2. Dennis Rodman. Rodman laying out for loose balls and knowing exactly where to be at all times for a rebound for whoever shot the ball(the greatest modern era rebounder) I was fascinated.

                      3. Shawn Kemp. The Seattle green and yellow and Kemp just yamming it on who the hell ever was downlow and some of the best fast break dunks during gametime.

                      4. Jason Kidd. First saw him in one of his years in college, Cal @ Zona and I don't remember a single score he had in the game, just that his passes were always on target and he was ripping the ball from the Zona pg so much when he missed a steal of an outlet pass the crowd had an audible 'awww'(don't know if it was sarcasm or actual awe) and he shrugs his shoulders at the crowd right before he hustled back on D. There was no doubt he was the best player on the court that night. First man I knew could take over a game without scoring a point. Watched it in person multiple times in his stint with Jersey.

                      5. Allen Iverson. I hate talking about AI on here because of the damn fanboys but the handles and the way even back in G'town he played with a reckless abandon and brought a style of iso streetball that succeeded in the league (for a time) was cool to see. His faults are obvious though and we've had pages and pages of threads about it.

Honestly Hakeem and the Glove could have made the list, but Hakeem I sadly didn't notice till he won b2b and the Glove I have a bias because of how close he was tied to Kemp outside of the reasons I like him.

Vince Carter- Youtube his early days and you'll understand why
Dirk Nowitzki- Always loved his shooting ability and was so happy when he finally got his ring
Hakeem Olajuwon- Best post player on offense I've seen
                        Micheal Jordan- The Goat
Allen Iverson- Say what you want about him but you can't say he wasn't polerizing
Tracy McGrady- Wish injuries never robbed him
Am I trolling? Am I serious? Did Dennis Green and the Cardinals really "let them off the hook"? What about the children? Find out next week

Whaaat? Why, it's a favorite players thread not a best players thread.. Vince and LeBron are the only guys who have ever been able to bring me the excitement Jordan did.. I'm sure most here feel the same.
