He was every bit of 37, 38 last season. His assists were high as usual, which is of no surprise. That isn't an indicator of him not slowing down. Jason Kidd still has high assist numbers too. The vintage Steve Nash is a guy who would weave in and out of the paint with ease, who would run baseline to baseline.. the past few years he's really slowed down from that pace.
He got to the All-Star game last year, which was fortunate for him. There was some talk that he didn't deserve it.
To start the pre season and last night Nash looks timid. Surprisingly it has nothing to do with Kobe either.
Night to night He was able to get where he wanted yes, And usually when you play less minutes you also score less points. His core production is still pretty good. Kidd hasn't had double digit assists in over two years not sure why you would bring him up, Nash is clearly producing more than Kidd and has been for a few years now. Running baseline to baseline hasn't happen due to coaching changes. Gentry ran a different system than D'antoni I don't think that has to do with Nash personally. As for it having nothing to do with Kobe I'll disagree. Nash is usage % is much lower than his usual number I attribute that to playing with kobe, who incoincidentally has had the highest usuage % the last two years...Comment

Re: 10/30 - 11/7 Games Discussion Thread.
Wasn't it known for a while that he wasn't going to play anyway?
The reason I say that is because the Nets get to avoid major embarrassment if they were to lose. I'm sure know how stupid Yormark and the Nets would look if they were not only lose the 1st regular season game in Brooklyn, but lose a game that they BEGGED the league to give them and then lose in an Arena where it's safe to say the crowd would be almost split down the middle.
And what would be the theme that would've come from losing the 1st game? "Same, old Nets".#RespectTheCultureComment

Let's talk about the Heat... How long has this team of guys been together. I swear you would have thought that they played together for years, Granted, Beantown's D was shoddy, but damn did Allen and Lewis look good.Comment

Heat looked like a team that has played together for 3 years and the Celtics looked like a team that still hasn't gotten it together defensively.
The Celts are going to be fine and no need to overreact about the Heat either.
Also Celts bench when Bradley returns is going to be something serious.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: 10/30 - 11/7 Games Discussion Thread.
My point is that you want to make the 1st home game all about your team(especially THIS team since they're still trying build a fanbase in Brooklyn) and now they get the chance to do that since they know half of the Arena won't be cheering for the other team.
Not even sure why the League even thought this game should still go on(outside of Ratings and $$$ of course)when it would be a nightmare for people trying to get to the game, not to mention you got a lot of people still without power.#RespectTheCultureComment
