Rick Carlisle is a great coach. I guess Eddy Curry showed why he is an 11 year vet tonight lol. Nothing too great but just enough.

If the Lakers could have just made some free throws they would have been in it, but Dallas out hustled and probably beat them on the offensive boards.

If the Lakers can play like they did in the 1st quarter, they can be deadly, but the rest of the game was just ugly for them.

            Dwight--c'mon man...

3/14 from the line is shameful for somebody in the league. A random kid at your local rec center could hit that with his eyes closed.

Secondly, 19 and 10? Do you realize who was playin' the 5 for Dallas tonight? Brandan Wright and Eddy Curry. Brandan Wright and Eddy ****ing Curry. Shaq woulda dropped 40 and 20 on those two clowns in his Laker days.

And where do I start with Steve Nash? I've been saying since he was officially a Laker that they wouldn't win the West cause he'd be absolutely eaten alive by Western Conference point guards in the postseason. Ol' dude was playing that ¡Olé!' defense all night, and who'da thunk he'd be inept offensively? Lord, I'd have preferred to have Fish out there if I'm a Laker fan.

I know it's one game, but they looked bad against a terrible Dallas lineup tonight at home, and that's gotta be concerning for the faithful.

I think the West is either San Antonio or OKC depending on injuries. I thought this before the season so this isn't an overreaction to one game. But I agree absolutely with you on Nash.

im not tripping. i expect the lakers to struggle early on. new offense, new players.

i do agree with charles though, taking the ball out of Nash's hands is just stupid. if thats the case why the **** did we get him. we could have just started Blake instead. we need to be running more.

im willing to give the offense a chance though. i expect 14-6 start after 20 games.

You do realize Howard hasn't played a meaningful game since April. It's pretty clear the guy isn't even close to his old self after coming off the back surgery. His elevation is laughable right now and he really looks stiff. You can't possibly expect him to be back to 100% at this point in time. The free throw shooting was terrible though, pathetic.

Nash on the other hand isn't the same guy he was in Phoenix. He was already slowing down at a rapid rate last year.

Give Dallas some credit, they played balls out all night. LA should be ashamed of themselves for losing to a Dirkless Maverick team, but they have hardly played together as a unit.

OKC is the clear favorite in the conference and tonight kind of proved that it's going to take a lot of time for LA to build chemistry. Nash needs to put his fingerprints all over the game more because he's playing a bit too passive.

Just one game, I expect them to gel, and Nash to make evryone better as the season goes on. They just have to find that rhythm, and they will have a much easier job finding that with this years team, then last years.

Free throws, Not sure where Dwight is health wise yet, or Kobe. Bench was pretty much absent. I think they will gel in due time.

But yea, the defense was horrendous, Pau was soft, and the Lakers were just flat out hustled. I'm not reading too much into this one though.

I don't know man--I kinda feel like you just gotta take a L at the PG position as the Lakers have done so often in recent years. Gotta feel like whatever Nash gives you offensively is gonna be matched at the least on the other end of the floor. He's gotta show up night in and night out offensively to make it worth making him your floor general, and tonight he certainly didn't.

But y'all are right though, it's just one game. I'm just hyped that the NBA season is back and I can talk about all this business again.

After watching the Celtics and Lakers tonight, I already know the Nets are most likely going to have the same issues these two had as far as chemistry and comfort goes.
