Jerry Sloan or Nate McMillian I think both would be great fits as far as head coach.

To bring up rumors, there was some kind of talk here in LA and Phil Jackin's name being mentioned. I don't know what he was being mentioned for, but I know he wants to return to coaching haha

Phil is the best at waiting around until championship opportunities present themselves

The Lakers still don't play anything remotely resembeling Mike Browns defense, and if he can't get that implemented, his crappy game management is going to put him into the enemployment line, fair or not.

Bit off way more than he could chew with this club, IMO.

It's definitely too early to go into panic mode, I hate comparisons but Heat started 9-8 their first season. It'll take some time, maybe more than expected being that the Lakers have only been fully healthy 2x including preseason.

Not to busted any bubbles. But didn't they win like 5 straight to start the season (After boston game). Before losing some crazy games. Paul Milsap for 3. Not one but 3. Threes to beat them lol. I'm just saying they had a great record before the losing. I remember those loses lol. Teams seem to be hitting all kinda of contested shots over them. They gave up HUGE leads.

The Lakers haven't build an identity yet. I think that would be my problem now. Alot of bad defense being played right now by them. And yes it's only 2 games.

EditAnyone get a good look at Anthony Davis yesterday? Hit a few spot up med range jumpers last night. Far from KG status. But pretty damn good. Anyone still thin he's a Noah? (oh no I did it again lol)

He doesn't really have good defenders other than dwight, Metta has slowed down substantially, Pau isn't know for his defense, We all know Nash can't defend. Kobe hasn't been a good defender in maybe 5 years. The team doesn't really have a lot of people who can play defense

Tuned in to watch Jeremy Lin. Harden is looking damn good. Enjoying this combo in the backcourt.

I have DirecTV so with this Time Warner huge money deal I didn't get to watch the Lakers last night (sounds like I ought to be glad I didn't). No way I'm watching the Lakers in standard def streaming on my laptop.

Back to this Rockets team...

This game I did watch and I was so thoroughly entertained by these guys that I can easily say I'll be pulling for them this season (much like the T-Wolves last season and again this season).

I'm obviously a Lakers fan first & foremost, but unlike a few OSers I don't tend to hate other teams "just because they are". So I can root for the Lakers yet still "pull" for other clubs to do well.

I really like the Rockets and will be definitely pulling for Harden & Lin. I just couldn't understand all the negativity from OS on Harden after the trade. I've always admired his hustle & tenacity and will continue pulling for him to do well.

I'm not making any proclamations on the Rockets being world beaters or anything but I still maintain the trade was not a "fleecing" by OKC like some have suggested.

Lakers game tomorrow against the Clippers will definitely be interesting and they could easily be 0-3 to start this season.

Caught parts of that Clippers / Grizz game last night as well, those teams were made to play one another lol. Great battle and highly competitive game for sure, loved it.
