Re: Best Point Guard in the Game?
1. I'm of the opinion that Rose shouldn't have won MVP that season.
2. That season for Rose blows any of Rondo's seasons out of the water.
3. If Rondo continues to play the way he has, then sure, you can make a case (though it will be incredibly hard to beat out LeBron), but this season so far has easily been Rondo's best, and the Celtics aren't playing at a high enough level to put him in the discussion in my opinion.
Obviously that 3rd point is subject to change though.NFL: Bills

Re: Best Point Guard in the Game?
Ok, he got 2 out of 121 votes for 4th place and 6 out of 121 votes for 5th place and beat out a guy that was the 2nd banana on his team. That's not an "MVP type season".
Edit: Basically, over 93% of the voters did not think Rondo was one of the 5 most valuable players in the league last year, in what was his best season of his career. So going back to the post that I quoted, Rondo has not had an MVP-type season to this point (though the pace that he is off too so far is an MVP type level in my opinion.Last edited by Yeah...THAT Guy; 11-18-2012, 06:01 PM.NFL: Bills

In same breathe, one could say TP who was 4th in MVP (with 1st place votes) season wasnt leaps ahead of guys like Westbrook, Howard and Rondo and was just as valuable to his team as the likes of Howard and Rondo.Ok, he got 2 out of 121 votes for 4th place and 6 out of 121 votes for 5th place and beat out a guy that was the 2nd banana on his team. No I agree, I don't think Rondo should be an MVP, I was just saying if Rose got his it wouldn't be a big surprise to me if Rondo were to get one.1. I'm of the opinion that Rose shouldn't have won MVP that season.

If Rondo continues to play the way he has this year, he definitely could in my opinion. 13 and 13 while shooting 52 or 53% is crazy.NFL: Bills

Yeah, I don't see anybody topping LeBron at this point, if he ups his PPG a little (which I'm sure he will) and he stays around 9 and 7 I'm sure he'll win it again.. Especially if the Heat end up top team in the east again...
With the way the Knicks are playing could you picture Melo winning MVP? I've never considered him an MVP guy but it seems as if the voters take the teams record as like 90% of the vote lolComment

Re: Best Point Guard in the Game?
He continued his assist streak last night....
....albeit his 10th assist was with 59 seconds left in a game. Where they were down by 20. To the Pistons.
But at least Rondo got his 10 assists. MVP!Comment

Re: Best Point Guard in the Game?
PG is the hardest position to pick a top player in. So much Talent.
You got CP3, Deron, Westbrook (even though imo he's more of a SG), Rondo, Kyrie, Rose ect.
At the other 4 spots theres 2 maybe 3 guys to pick from.
I'd say CP3 still runs the show, His passing is amazing, still on point with rondo's (or maybe a FRACTION off, but not by much) and can drop 25 any game. Rondo can't score AND pass like these other guys can so thats my beef against him, among these guys, he has by FAR the worst shot, still he passes better than any of them. even if only by a little bit, and initiates the offense.
1. CP3
2. Deron Williams
3. RondoComment

Can't and won't are different. Rondo passes up alot of shots (not because he's "scare" to shoot the jumper; he has been hitting the jumper consistently this year and his shot attempts are up) to feed/reward his teammates and perhaps spam the assist stat (he wants that record lol)PG is the hardest position to pick a top player in. Rondo should have atleast a 16 and 10 stat line instead of 13 and 13.
At this point, he jump needs to improve his free throw shooting and get to the line more (which would also raise his scoring to at least 20)
Like The Truth said in the first game of the season, Rondo need to attack more but still be that pass first PG. Just stop over thinking lol do the opposite of Westbrook but not overkill it
When he does those things, then he could take that #1 spot from Chris.
