    Hey David,

I am resting my fantasy starters for this week, yeah...just tellin ya ahead of time, so while you're at it, do inform the Heat's media and the league office of my decision as well, I mean...after all, it would be a great disservice to the fans, no?

Lol he didn't inform the Heat

Lol it's their only trip to Miami

Who knew the coaches were suppose to support the league's agenda in anyway other than getting wins. What do the Spurs care about Miami fans? More importantly, why is the league pretending that the Spurs team walked out on the game altogether. They almost embarrassed the Heat inspite of this. Sterns hard on against the Spurs is showing big time. He wouldn't do this against any other team facing any team not named Miami.

So is Stern going to step in and answer questions for Pops and the Spurs Org. when they get knocked out of the playoffs for having tired legs.

Next thing you know Stern and his gang of thugs are going to be forcing Pop to play Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker 40 minutes per game.

I don't see how the Spurs did a "disservice" to the fans. At the end of the day, it was still a competitive game and the Heat had to rally to win at home.

He did it last season in a 40 point blow-out loss against Portland, in fact a fan wrote him an anger letter condemning his actions, and no media outlets - outside of San Antonio - nor the commissioner reacted to it.

Actually, Deputy Adam Silver sent out this press release about the matter:

"The strategic resting of particular players on particular nights is within the discretion of the teams," Silver said then. "And Gregg Popovich in particular is probably the last coach that I would second-guess

Pop, like any other coach, is entitled to play who he wants and whoever minutes he so choices. Sending the players home to San Antonio may have been too much, but not playing them was entirely in his right as head coach. The league needs more coaches like Pop that give a damn about players long-term viability and overall team success.

Edit: People may also remember that game as the one that Duncan received a DNP-"old" as his reason for not playing.
He's sat all three regularly? What other games?

Stern needs to answer for the fact that he took no action in that Portland game.

Re: San Antonio Spurs to Receive Sanctions for Resting Players

im with Stern on this one.

if u wanna sit your guys do it against a crappy team and/or when its not on national tv. most people dont even watch those games anyway. the fact that your doing it against a team that is a championship contender (or in this case the NBA Champion) on national tv is an issue because these are games people actually want to watch and even worse the fans that go to the game.

i hate the 4 games in 5 nights just like everyone else but the Spurs are not the only team that has to deal with it. EVERY team does. if u keep letting this go whats from stopping every team from doing the same thing. so then there is no reason for me to watch the other teams in league and no reason for people the buy the league pass because all the Star players are sitting every 5-6 games or sitting out the marquee match-ups because its on the 2nd half of a back-to-back.

these dudes on ESPN keep saying what is the difference between now and at the end of season. BIG difference. we (the fans) give u that leeway because we know because we know its a long season and that since you have played well enough to make the playoffs we want u to put the best team on the floor for the playoff run. so instead of buying a ticket to see my Lakers play OKC during the last week of season when i know most likely Westbrook and Durant will not be playing, ill just try and get a playoff ticket instead. and if i purchase that ticket early i still have a chance to sell it and get my money back.

EDIT: and if he is gonna sit all of the big 3 for a game, he should alert the league and the opponent beforehand. if he is only sitting 1 of them then he shouldnt have to.

I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

                          There is no difference

The guy is a hypocrite... He only did it for money, stop saying it was for the fans because it wasnt.

He better fine every single team that tanks from now on and forever no less than 250k

That's my problem with him, when he can change something that matters he picks on things like this that makes no difference.

We ALL know why he did this, DOLLA BILL David couldn't help himself

What makes the Heat fans more important than the Orlando fans? If you are going to say it was wrong you can't have a double standard. Gregg Popovich doesn't make decisions for the best interest of the fans and neither should any other coach in the league.

Naw man, it's cool. We're already watching Arron Afflalo, Glen Davis, J.J. Redick and all of the other stars on the team tear it up. Plenty of star power to hold us over. They need that show over in Miami because they never get one like we do.

So $250K per game is the going rate for tanking. In other words, the Wizards deserve a $20.5M fine.
