@InthePaint, I agree totally.

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
They need to sweeten the pot to get more guys to consider it. More money, or free tacos for life or something. Only allow one prop dunk; they take forever to set up and are usually underwhelming. No hype men or talking before the dunk; those are just stupid and the players seem embarrassed by it.
My picks of players who would realistically participate in it(so no Lebron):
James White: Finally on an NBA team again. Even if his hops may have diminished with age he'll still pull off something nice.
Gerald Green: If he's up for it, get him in.
Javale McGee: One of the best non-winner dunk contest participants.
Russell Westbrook: He said he's considering it. Gotta have at least one allstar in there.Comment

Javale should be in. Do the two-rim dunk again for all I care--i'd give it a 50 again. That was an awesome dunk.***1971-72 ABA Roster 2K12 360***

In terms of the dunk contest, I believe in keeping things relatively pedestrian and only adding something to the contest if we're certain it's going to be awesome. I refuse to believe the idea of bringing in Kevin Hart to act out a sketch pre-dunk was something everyone in charge could honestly step back and say, "Yes, this will be an awesome addition. Also, what if we had Chase Budinger fake blindfold dunk while Kenny Smith implored the crowd to count his steps out loud in unison at a very quick rate of speed?"
Maybe I'm just being naive though. I just feel the dunk contest should be the dunk contest and if the NBA decided it wanted to back a dump truck full of tacos into the arena and pour them all over the winner after things were all said and done, then more power to them.
I like your dunk picks too, by the way. I wonder about White as well. He's gotta be close to 30 at this point and I feel as though that's close to being out of range of being able to pull off all of his sickest dunks. Maybe he can still do a few, but it's just sort of a bummer he's probably not going to be at his peak.
I also wonder a little about Westbrook. I acknowledge he's a super nasty game dunker, but I'm not fully convinced he'd be able to bring something wonderfully creative to competition.Comment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
Hey, Kenny Dobbs is playing for the D-League Texas Legends, I believe. In the unlikely event he were signed to a team and able to enter the contest--that would be a wrap. Regardless, barring any unforeseen circumstances he'll be in the D-league contest, which will be worth watching for that reason alone.***1971-72 ABA Roster 2K12 360***

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
I have supported the Dunk Contest for as long as its been around. People have been criticizing it for just as long. Even throughout the '00's, I have a lot of fond dunk contest memories. However, the '12 contest pushed me well beyond my limit. I felt real life embarrassed as I watched it unfold on TV. Sometimes props are okay to me, but actors, the "dunk coaches", the pre-dunk coach explanations, the choir, the running on-floor commentary, the lack of any judging, the single round.... it was one of the worst things I've ever seen in television history.
My only hope, is for the return to normal dunk contest procedure. 6 dunkers. 2 rounds. 3 dunks in the first round. 2 in the finals. Real judges. Minimize anything that doesn't have to do with dunking. No comedians dressed like mailmen, no choirs, no coaches - just real life dunking.
I'm pretty sure they removed that restriction, as Gerald Wallace was in the 2010 contest.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
Regardless of who's in it, they need to take away the Fan Voting and put the judges back. From the day I knew Blake Griffin was going to be in it, I knew regardless of what he did he would win because he's the most popular. I didn't even think he should've won the one he was in. To this day I still see nothing impressive about being 6'9 and jumping over a hood of a car.
And don't get me started on Nate Robinson and his 14+ attempt still scored a 46 smh.
EDIT: Andre Igoudala was robbed on National Television!Comment

Can they please get some players that are recognizable to the casual fan?I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
I echo the sentiments of Dice.
Gerald Green did an under-the-legs dunk in socks. That is ********. Go try dunking on the shiny hardwood in socks--got a better chance at doing the moonwalk. Green has dumb hops.
I would love to see Griffin do some more dunks without the props.***1971-72 ABA Roster 2K12 360***
