Don't know, but I have a feeling DeRozan would prefer helping out Ross over competing against him. Don't know if it's just hype, or it's actually true, but supposedly Ross has been practicing stuff today and has 1 crazy dunk completed

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
if t-ross gets some ideas from demar then its over- my money is on him.
back in the 2011 dunk contest, demar got all his creativity from Jus Fly (of Team Flight Brothers), and man they have some crazy dunks, never before seen in the NBA .. IF ONLY Demar got through to the final round instead of Blake.. because i remember watching demar's dunk contest training video and he said he was saving the better dunks for the later round ...

You can't be eligible for fan voting if you aren't even in finals.Comment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
Since dunk contest is next week, I wanna rewatch past dunk contests. lol, I completely forgot Rudy Gay was ever in a dunk contest. Makes me even more excited to see what Ross comes up with, cause he has 2 guys who were in dunk contests in the past, helping him out.
Ones I'm gonna watch(80s and 90s ones I'm watching are ones containing guys I really know in NBA),so if there's others I should(or ones that I listed from 80s or 90s that I prob shouldn't) watch, let me know.

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
With the way the dunk contest is, I think it'd be better to do your best dunks first. Cause fans aren't gonna be like "___ had a great dunk in 2nd round,so I'm voting for them, even though ___ had the dunks of the night in 1st round".
You can't be eligible for fan voting if you aren't even in finals.

IMO, there shouldn't be a final round, instead each participants should just do 3-4 dunks with the winner determined based on voting ratio (50% judges & 50% fans).Comment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
Which is why I'm hoping LA and NY aren't in finals. Meaning either Toronto or Indiana vs Denver or Utah. None of those cities have the crazy amount of media publicity of a LA or NY, so fans voting based on dunk skill over team/city/how much they know the player.Last edited by Majingir; 02-09-2013, 06:12 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
I thought they could give less for misses. Fan voting is only for the final. Still it could happen that all 3 on one team make their dunks with high scores and all 3 on the other team end up with 30,31 and 32. On the positive side I'd say this increases the chances of a tie between conferencemates and we could get a bunch of extra rounds.Comment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
Hopefully this doesn't hurt his chances, but Dunk contest in canada is airing on tsn2(for those who don't know, tsn is canadas espn, and tsn2 is canadas espn2, so not as many people who have tsn has tsn2). Meaning less people will be watching in canada, which could mean less people in canada(if they're eligible to vote this year) will be voting for him.Comment

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
Kind of curious to see what Kenneth Faried might try to pull off as well as Bledsoe, I know they have a few surprises up their sleeves. Hopefully Shumpert might give the dunk contest a shot next season when he is fully healthy."The more you sweat in practice , the less you bleed in battle."

Re: 2013 Dunk Contestees
I was looking at past dunk contests and 1 thing I noticed from a past one....what if someone did something like lob the ball, do a cartwheel, then jump up and do a dunk?
It was attempted 1 time(I think by Michael Finley?) but back then, you had no do-overs so he missed the dunk and couldn't redo it.
If it happened, would people give it a 50(Regardless of the type of dunk that it actually was), would it deserve a 50 just for the stuff that the player did before the actual dunk?
lol, I want someone to go NBA Live on this contest and do a lob off the camera or video screen. I don't believe I've ever seen anyone even attempt a 720 dunk in the NBA dunk contest. Even 540 would have been cool(and a for sure 50) to see(meaning the person starts facing the rim, spins 540,and finishes with a reverse dunk)Comment
