Well, that's what happens when you don't have a true 3 or 5 to come of the bench. Nazr at this point is 12th man and not backup center. Not having a true SF on the bench doesn't help either.

The more Lebron carries this team as"mr. Everything" because that is what he is to the Heat. He'll end up getting hurt seriously within the next 3 years. He can't continue this pace of scoring 30, rebounding 10, running point, and guarding the other teams best player while playing 39 mins a night
He's Miami's Mr. Everything whether ppl like it or not.
But even the best of players who were asked to do less went down. Lebron's not exempt. But Riley and Spo are gonna ride him until the wheels fall off.Comment

LeBrons game is to be Mr Everything...he's averaged that same 26 7 and 6 pretty much his whole career. You can't tell him to stop scoring, passing and rebounding...that's what he does naturally
You can maybe take away his minutes at the 4, but he's not really doing anything unusual for a player his age IMO...I'm sure he's tired from a Finals run and the Olympics, but that's the NBA.Comment

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
I believe that it's an increase in the wear and tear on his body. Again 38 MPG isn't so bad for an NBA player in their 20's, but for a guy that is literally doing EVERYTHING for his team, it's too much. As mentioned he's leading his team in pretty much every statistic, he's playing out of position banging against dudes just as big and bigger than him.
I get that he's the leading scorer, rebounder and their best defender(although I seriously doubt that it's by design and that's also who he was going to be the second he got in the NBA)but people are acting like his career is being shortened every year because of the amount of minutes he played, which is why I asked that question. If it's not affecting his health in the short term or long term, then I personally don't see it as big deal.
Which is why I don't necessarily blame Spoelstra either because I'm sure he doesn't go into every game thinking, "Ok Lebron, you're going to play 40+ minutes tonight". Things happen, especially in a middle of game and during an 82 game season. Wasn't part of the reason Rashard Lewis was brought in was so that they wouldn't have to worry about playing Lebron that much every night?#RespectTheCultureComment

LeBron is 28, that **** is going to catch up to him sooner or later.

Dude really does not need to keep this pace up. He's going to, but I don't think it's wise.Comment

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
All I'm saying is, it's the nature of superstar players. Throughout history. I brought up MJ because he was asked to do everything.. score, post, shoot, facilitate, guard the other team's best player etc. etc.
I brought up Malone because he's similar in size to LeBron and he took a pounding throughout his career. He did most of all the heavy lifting.
Both MJ and Malone both played similar minutes to LeBron.
If you're not expecting LeBron to be top 5 in minutes during his prime years, well you're living in a dreamworld.
If you guys want to continue to play armchair coach, that's good for you. Spo continues to get criticism and he will continue to get it even after he probably makes the finals this year. Oh well. You guys know better I guess.
LeBron himself wouldn't choose to play any less minutes regardless of what it might do to his career. Competitors play this much in the NBA, superstars do this. It's nothing new under the sun.
Like I said though, after this year I think you will see his body start to slow down just a bit. That could lead to his minutes winding down as well.Comment

EDIT: Also find it kind of funny that you were the one harping about him not even being top five in minutes and as soon as he gets there it's a dreamworld to expect him to not be in the top five.Last edited by King_B_Mack; 01-09-2013, 01:00 PM.Comment

Jordan definitely wasn't asked to do everything in his prime. Maybe when he was still playing with Corzine and that crew, but you're kidding yourself if you're saying he had to do everything after Pip and Grant came along.

That's great that you find it funny about the top 5 in minutes, my point was that people were complaining about Bron's minutes when he wasn't even in the top 5. That was surprising to me since he should be top 5 in minutes, he is the best player in the league and still relatively young.
My point stands, if you don't think he should be top 5 in minutes you're not being realistic.Comment

I wanted to indicate that he was in the post, came off screens, handled the ball and initiated the offense. Just like LeBron does. Except MJ probably operated in an era where defenses were allowed to be a bit more physical than today.Comment

They are playing that "no timetable" game. He's participating in limited controlled contact drills now, and running and jumping. Still looking at late March, early April as a possible time, at least from the way their moving him along IMO.
