Serious thought, I wonder if there are other players(Let's say Elite Players/Superstars) who did "everything" for their team during their prime years, played heavy minutes(Keep it around 35-40 a night)and if so, how'd there career turned out in the end?

I'd like to know this too, I'd like to know what "does everything" entails as well...Comment

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
MJ wasn't asked to do everything his first 10 years?
That's great that you find it funny about the top 5 in minutes, my point was that people were complaining about Bron's minutes when he wasn't even in the top 5. That was surprising to me since he should be top 5 in minutes, he is the best player in the league and still relatively young.
My point stands, if you don't think he should be top 5 in minutes you're not being realistic.Comment

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
First 10 years? Really? First 10 years? From 84 to his first retirement in 94? So he was doing all the rebounding for the Bulls? He was guarding the best player on the other team every night? He was the one running the offense every night for the team? Scottie Pippen wasn't doing any of that at any point in Jordan's first 10 years? Horace Grant wasn't doing any of that at any point in Jordan's first 10 years? We really gotta go through this? Cause the numbers are right there to be seen.Comment

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
Grant Hill avg 39 minutes in his first 4 years(Pre Ankle Injuries) and then once the Ankle Issues popped up, it fell to 31 minutes in the next 13 seasons.
So I'd like to think that his decline was more due to not being healthy as opposed to playing too many minutes from age 22-25 now, lol.
And was T-Mac guarding SFs AND PFs while asked to score and rebound and do "everything" like Lebron does?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
Grant Hill was mis diagnosed and continued to play on a crippled ankle. Officials on the Pistons actually questioned if he was even hurt [since he was set to be a free agent that summer, people thought he was saving himself for a big payday]. I'd say that's a different situation.Comment

Here's an article on the Hill situation
It's a shame that nobody seems to remember the genesis of what essentially put the kibosh on Hill's career. The pressure on him to not appear as if he had a case of senioritis was so great that he limped through an NBC-aired game against Philadelphia with what was obviously an ankle injury that needed weeks to heal, but the criticism about his impending free agency (a turn he did absolutely nothing to promote in-season, unlike James) was so strong that Hill played on.Comment

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
Let me rephrase: MJ simply did everything his first 10 years. Asked or not asked, he did it all on both sides of the floor. He exerted as much energy as LeBron has his first 10 years. He took a beating, more of a beating than any other superstar the league has now. That evens the playing field in terms of the difference in size between Jordan and LeBron.
In the late 80s, early 90s, this dude MJ, used to get MUGGED on a consistent basis. Fouls that nowadays probably would be flagrant 1s with the way they call it now.
Today, you can't even breathe on LeBron and the whistles come flying.
I don't believe the physical beating each player took is really comparable.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.
The bottom line to the whole conversation is that Spo could do more as far as coaching goes to set LeBron up to not have to do as much as he does. For starters getting that Goomba Joel Anthony back in the starting rotation so LeBron doesn't have to grab all the rebounds for the team to still get out rebounded by like 20 boards.Comment

Yes Tmac was.. and it ended up a problem... you asked, and thats was a quick answer off the top of the head
..and this isnt about just minutes played.. its about overusing a guy, and it affecting him down the road, this isnt rocket science.
Spo does that crap when he goes into savemyjob mode, and we all know it...Comment
