Rick Carlisle is an old-school coach in a Player's League. He will take the Pacers far, if he can keep them in balance. If I'm a Pacers fan, I'm worried about this kind of heat after 20 games. Maybe it's nothing, but you don't air your laundry in the town square!

Thats true, but I do still beleive old school coaches work, in any league. parcells in Dallas is a great example

BUT...the NFL isn't as much of a Player's League as the NBA is. No guarenteed contracts in the NFL means that the players do not have the power. NBA players have ALL the power.

I see what your saying, I just think it will be good for the Pacers to have a old school coach, not Isiah, who really had no control on the team at all

and the bottom line is, if the pacers start winning, then all of this willl mean nothing, aswinning is the cure all for almost all problems in professional sports

      jut my opinion though

Re: Ron Artest vs Rick Carlisle

Larry Bird would trade Ron Artest if he thinks it would benefit the team. In Bird's year as Coach Larry Bird, Rick Carlisle and his other assistant basically developed game plans, and Larry just motivated the team and brought it all together. He even says in his book that while he loves Carlisle, he can be a hothead and needs to relax sometimes.

Man, every time I see a post or article about my boy Artest, It just pisses me off. I was one of the few people not living in the windy city who stayed with the bulls following MJ + Pip's departure. And nothing angers me more than that Brad Miller - Ron artest for Jalen Rose-Travis best trade. Best and Rose are basically JYD and A. Davis now while Miller and Artest are an allstars (one already, one playing like one)

Like I said, sh*t is blown way outta proportion. I dont care what any of y'all say. And I can "believe what I hear" if I see Artest say it on the local news. And what like to know exactly what makes Artest a punk? All this year, he's been called for the most bullsh*t fouls Ive ever seen cause he's tryin to pay tough defense, he'll pick up 2 quick fouls and doesnt say a fukin word to the ref, EVER. Just last night, he was up in Lebron's face trying to play tough D on him and he was getting whistled for ticky tack fouls like Lebron was MJ or something and Artest didnt say sh*t. He just walked right to bench and sat down. Come to think of it, he NEVER argues fouls at all. Thats more than I can say for most of these other crybabies in the league. So if he's a punk, then I guess 90% of the NBA is full of straight b*tches.
