Some of it most certainly. Its looking like David Stern has turned the league into almost a full business venture... Too many owners are in it for the money only

He's in a lose-lose situation again, if there is any doubt in his mind about staying in LA then he's not gonna commit to staying there right now or say that(at least I wouldn't), but if he just ignores it all by saying no comment or something like that people will take it as him not wanting to stay in LA.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
I happen to agree with you but the part that seems odd to me is that small market teams don't generate a ton of money even when they do have legit stars (some exceptions to this rule apply).... The interesting part is that the league is more popular worldwide than its ever been and yet the owners claimed to be losing money every yearComment

Not having one guy who you may call a star that the NBA doesn't give 10 cents about shoving down your throat unless he plays in a specific market.
With the way a guy like Sarver has turned things, you'll likely never see the Suns on tv as much ever again. Short term pocketbooks have axed long term gains now, because everything is microwave what have you done for me lately.
Look at the Bucks lying... they don't want to give up a pick (which will likely be a weak one) for Josh Smith?Comment

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
Any poorly run business will lose money. The owners are either idiots or full of ****. It sounds silly to call men who have made billions of dollars idiots when you're living in a one bedroom apartment, but some of the decisions made by these teams in "building" their team/product can be mind blowing. Someone is going to give Josh Smith a max contract this year. Someone is going to give Brandon Jennings a Very large deal. Someone is going to an outdated center in Al Jefferson a Very large deal. All three of those teams will be doomed to mediocrity or worse. And then in the next lockout they're going to cry that the league isn't fair to their markets. It's beyond irritating.
Sorry, random rant.Comment

Committed winning helps generates money, especially with the new tax distribution looming to rake in even more excess cash.

Regardless, this is how the last few days before the deadline always is. A whole lot of talk but rarely anything getting done, especially anything major.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
What's the fascination with Monta Ellis? I know he's a good player but he's undersized and inefficient, and just seems to me like he'd be better coming off the bench, which is why I found Atlanta to be a terrible destination being that they have Teague, Harris, Lou Williams (one of them is hurt I just don't know which).. Adding Ellis is just 4 guys who can play the 2 all under 6'4 hahah.Comment

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
Woj just tweeted that it's down to Brooklyn (who I don't think have a chance in hell), Milwaukee, and Phoenix for Josh Smith.
I've already posted the two Milwaukee possibilities.
For Phoenix, they reportedly were talking with OKC about Perkins, Lamb/Perry, and a 1st round pick for Gortat and PJ Tucker. If they just take one of Lamb & Perry, they can swing Perkins and 2 or 3 1st round picks to Atlanta for Josh Smith. I guess at that point it would be up to Ferry to decide if he likes that more than what Milwaukee is offering.
I don't think Atlanta wants to take Humphries.NFL: Bills
