You must not have been following Washington if you didn't think he could dunk...

At times he would settle for the jumper too often when he was at Washington (and he would make them) but he was too supremely athletic to be doing that. He was always at his best when he was attacking the rim (and his ball-handling needs to improve a bit more so he can do that at the NBA level).

Sorry guys I'm just now watching the dunk contest, was at the gym... So my post is gonna be late.. I'll just edit this post.

      1. I don't like the East v. West format it already looks stupid

      2. Jeremy Evans got a 47 for that first dunk hahahahahahaha smh. C'mon son.

      Edit:

      3. James White and Gerald Green smh.

Had their been judges and no voting, woulda been a dunk off! Haha pretty good.

That about sums it up for me. For many, it seems the contest seems to be very polarizing. As in, if the contest doesn't absolutely blow their minds, then it must be labeled as absolutely horrible. Sometimes contests are just okay. I thought this one was okay. Most definitely better than '12 and '10's offerings.

It basically got to the point they were handing out points just because guys actually made dunks.

I thought Carried,s backboard dunk wasn't bad and bledsoe's lob reverse was nice, but the names got eliminated which was on themselves...Gerald green wasted all of his time on a dunk that wasn't even worth it,and although whites first dunk was nicer than what they gave him, he is done and its too bad he didn't get to show what he could do before he lost it.

What was the dunk contest voting process on twitter?

Did you have to tweet #SpriteSlamRoss(or #SpriteSlamEvans) or #SpriteSlam (followed by the players name NOT included in the hashtag, meaning #SpriteSlam Ross, #SpriteSlam Evans)

Seemed confusing lol. Cause people were voting both ways. With and without including players name in hashtag.

The dunk contest - the only thing the Raptors can win .

Raptors won 3point shootout before, and Atlantic division several years ago too...

But this contest, like all other Raptor wins(minus VC in 2000) won't ever be talked about again by any non Canadian sports station after the "Day after highlights"

Re: ***** 2013 NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND THREAD*****

NBA should make it like MLB does, all star determines home advantage in the finals.

But for NBA, all star weekend also matters.

                    Shooting stars=1 pt,skills challenge=2pts,3pt shootout=3pts,dunk contest=4pts, all star game=5 points(if I did math correctly, it's impossible to have a tie under this points system?)

That way, all star weekend has huge importance, and best players would want to enter these challenges in order to secure home court advantage for their team if they make the finals.

So all star game also has huge importance(unless one conference wins 3pt and dunk contest, shooting stars and/or skills)

Wouldn't mind seeing that for 2014.

That would only make sense in one of those tiebreaker conditions, and one of the last. Because as much as we want the players to try hard, they don't want to get injured.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

So far we got John Wall, Iman and DeAndre Jordan saying they're in next year. I'll believe it when I see it.

Though I may be the only one, I want Javale do a contest at some point. He loves showing off so let him...

He already did it. Was already nothing special.

Watching the contest again right now. I've decided I want Jeremy Evans arrested. Dude had no business in the final round of that contest just as he had no business winning last year.

It drove me nuts that he kept bringing out props for all his dunks. He did have a couple decent dunks but still. At least the other guys were pretty tame with the amount of props and everything.

Next year they really need to make a 2 or 3 miss limit. I'm tired of watching these guys take 10+ tries to throw a dunk down because by then the dunk has lost almost all of it's luster.

They should just go back to the early format. It was better then.

Maybe we won't see as many crazy dunks but that's kind of the point to me.

Don't do crazy dunks unless you can do them.

I feel like the format changed right after Doug Christie couldn't pull off the soccer kick off the backboard dunk.

Since then, my memory feels the contest has become a joke with too many gimmicks and less quality.
