Hardaway is Memphis born and bred, he is loved here. Hardaway would sign for not too much to play at home in front of his family and friends. Never underestimate the power of home. Hardaway can play 3 positions coming off the bench, that makes him wanted.

He can't just void his contract. Does he have some sort of "opt-out" clause?

You can always void a contract with both parties permission. Remember Shawn Kemp??

Yea Penny has a player option next year and can opt out of his contract. So it looks like it can be true.

oh, I didn't know that it was a players option, I thought he was going to waive it. Oh well, he will not be exercising that option would be the better way to put it, thanks.

Blazers are still paying him money. Look for yourself, Kemp's buyout is still counting against the Blazer's salary cap room.
