Yup, I made a soft mention of this in another thread(I forget which one).

He's had this ongoing feud with 610 WIP sportsradio host and NBC 10 sportscaster Howard Eskin.

I'm gonna say this. Iverson is being a bitch.

    Yup...a bitch. A woman. Female.

He's supposed to be all rough and tough and hard...but because some people question how dedicated he is to the team or to his craft, he throws a prissy fit about boycotting a radio show and gets mad at people in the organization.

It is nobody's fault except AI's that he still skips too much practice and sneaks around to do whatever he wants, or to make his point, he misses 10 games with a bruised knee when he has played through much worse than that, in turn hurting his team.

See, this is why I said the real problem wasn't Brown vs. Iverson. I have the strong belief 'til this day...that Brown and Iverson really got along well.

The problem has been how Iverson deals with himself.

Anyways, I'm with my man BigEast on this. I said 4 years ago to trade Iverson. Everybody does their dirt, especially when you're a superstar. But Iverson's stuff just gets ridiculous and annoying. Because it is not like it gets major. But somehow it affects the team. And that is not what I like. I love Iverson as a player. Always have and always will. But I wanted him gone a couple years ago.

Problem is...who would want a 5'9"-5'10" 160 pound 28 year old who has gone through so much injury-wise that he is more like a 33 year old...add to the fact he doesn't take care of his body...and then has a boatload of issues to still deal with and from all accounts, still hasn't grown up? Who would want that? You can't get anything for Iverson.

Re: Is Allen Iverson Gully or Just Crazy

I agree with P2K, but supposedly this guy likes to be controversial, and this isnt the first athlete to call him out

and while what P2K said was true, AI still is a great ball player, and is willign to get knoced down but keeps taking the ball to the hoop

For me its a confusing matter, he has the work ethic in games, to keep driving. This usually translates over to practice, but supposedly AI never goes to practice. Exadgeration, but you get my point. So you could say its attitude, but then again attitude it what helps him carry this team.

That is probably exactly what he is talkin 'bout. People think that since he has played through a lot more, he should be playing now. What do you think he is taking games off? He is having one of his best seasons stat wise (about 29 ppg, 6 apg, and 3 spg). Why would he want to "sit out." His team just did a trade and he still has yet to play with big dogg at full health (first big dogg was hurt now AI). That is probably his prob, people thinkin he should be playin (kinda like people wantin vick to come back). Only AI knows his body. He has come back WAAAAY ahead of schedule for most of his other injuries.... he finanlly has one that he feels he can't play through and people are probably pissed. just my 2 cents

Re: Is Allen Iverson Gully or Just Crazy

For the first time AI has taken some time to heal and people here and everywhere are asking why isn't he playing?
The reason he didn't play, was because he really needed the rest from a real injury. To question his teamwork, motivation or anything like that is just stupid. He has risked his career (and probably already shortened it) by coming back too soon (or not sitting at all) a few times in his career already. His team needed him and he played at well below 100% health. I think a lot of the reason he took a proper rest for once is that they have a much better team this year, or much more capable without him. Not to mention, if he keeps playing on injuries, it will soon catch up to him and he will be in long-term trouble.

I also think people saying he spoke out of line are the typical AI haters. When he plays well and acts well (99% of the time) no-one says a damn thing. Yet the second they lose or he says a few words, everyone under the sun wants his head. Grow up you gooses. And this whole Brown/Iverson crap is a joke. Iverson stuck up for Larry Brown whenever he could and even this year when the talk resurfaced, he didn't flinch and still showed respect, the proper manners and maturity when Brown and the Pistons came to Philly. Manners and maturity that Brown simply doesn't have.

Iverson is not perfect, 99% of the league aren't either. Yet as usual, anything he does is totally blown out of proportion.

Plus Iverson and Billy King are pissed at each other. King was gonna fine Iverson but decided to let it go. Iverson was gonna throw a bitchy fit. Howard Eskin caught wind of it and told the people about it and Iverson took out his pettiness from the King situation out on Eskin.

                                LOL!!! We could have Sheed......

But I heard what happen and it's sad. But the sadder part is, DC does it for years, and Big Dog has even gotten in the act. They take off all the time, all the Sixers players except for the youngings, Mckie, and Snow. I say blow the damn team up, because I'm tired of mediocre seasons, season after season.
