As an indiana fan I'm glad he's leaving. He would probably win the BIG player of the year next year if he stayed.

Sure, it could help them a bit. I don't see how it wouldn't, but I also don't see how it would make that much of a difference in the long run.

As far as Smart goes, I hate to see a kid go back to school when his stock is so high. He'll be analyzed to hell now and people will see more his faults than strengths. It happens with every high profile player returning to school in any sport. Not to mention he'll probably get injured now, which God forbid it happens, but damn, get your money while you can.
I like the age limit being at 19 or higher. It's better for scouts to see players play against a higher level of competition before judging whether they can play in the NBA and it's better to get scouts out of high school gyms and AAU tournaments. The other basketball reason is that NBA teams don't want to pay guys a year salary when they need obvious work on their fundamentals. Does the age limit at 19 solve everything? No but I think it helps.

I know that whether the age limit is 18, 19 or 21, etc. that it doesn't eliminate busts, etc. But I believe that requiring players to play at a level between high school and the NBA before getting drafted, should help players develop their skills before getting to the NBA and lead to a higher quality game.

Definitely some truth to this but I think for a lot of kids it's as simple as getting in top shape and another year in college can help. Even some of the top athletes each year coming out of HS aren't in great shape in terms of college/NBA ball. A lot of them have awful diets (a lot of pros do too, but still).

If you aren't in shape or mature enough and you're still in college it gives you a chance to get your act together. If you're out of shape and jump to the NBA it's pretty much a guarantee that it'll lead to injuries (probably stress reactions) and it could derail your career pretty quickly. Obviously the hard workers and guys that are meant to be in the NBA will figure it out but it could save others.

In terms of developing your skills, it definitely won't help. The best teachers, coaches, strength guys, etc are in the NBA. The quicker you can get there the better you are. Not to mention you don't have school and idiotic NCAA rules getting in the way.

But the one year rule needs to go, it's gotta be nothing or two years. We need some continuity in college basketball.

I wasn't that impressed with Hard away Jr. I thought his presense many times hurt UM than helped. He tried too hard to force his offense and it just didn't work most of the time.

If they get the top pick I'd say Noel would be the pick, but I think Otto Porter is the best fit for them.

Probably the worst draft in the past decade. I should say, the worst 1st round in the past decade.

I think there will be some good 2nd round value though.

If there was ever a year to trade down for a future pick, this is the year.

Not true. Last year draft class in the 1st round wasnt great to me followed by the 2011. This year may just be a solid draft class, I mean its not the most impressive in this new decade of basketball but you got some guys who can play. I just honestly think no daft class will ever touch the 2000 draft class as far as being the worse draft class in the history of the NBA.

                          76ers won tiebreaker with Raptors!

Meaning OKC will have the 12th or 13th pick in the draft.

Raptors with 2.5% chance of keeping their draft pick lol

Last years was bad? Lillard is practically All Star ready, 3 potential 20ppg guys in Davis, Beal, Waiters.. Barnes was a nice surprise, MKG is already a showing potential, John Henson stepping his game up as of late.. Not a bad class at all

Otto Porter,,or Anthony Bennett....Wall and Beal think we should try and get a Vet (stretch 4 or scorer off the bench)

Me personally I hope we don't trade that pick, wouldn't mind getting a SF or PF, to back Nene to eventually start in front of him because of his injuries

Something about Bennett makes me think he's gonna be a bust. Idk what it is though.

I like Porter as a fit in Cleveland or Washington a lot. He can make an impact without needing the ball in his hands all the time.
