In the expansion draft, who would you keep, and who would you expose?

The Bobcats are gonna make their roster in June, and teams need to be thinking about who they should protect. Name the 9 player (I think it is 9) that you want your team to protect. If you don't know how the expansion draft works, I think it goes like this: Each team protects 9 players from their roster, and the remaining players become exposed. The Bobcats will construct their roster by picking 15 of these exposed players. However once they pick a player from one team, they cannot pick another player from that same team. Note that unrestricted free agents do not have to be protected for their former team. Here's a link for the unrestricted free agents for next year: http://realgm.com/src_freeagents.php?year=2004

I'll start off with the Lakers.
Kobe Bryant* - *Unrestricted Free Agent*

Maurice Carter - *Unrestricted Free Agent*

Brian Cook* - *Protect* I think that this kid will be a good player, and will be a good part in the Lakers' future

Derek Fisher - *Protect* Lakers don't need to protect anyone else, so they might as well keep Fisher.

Rick Fox - *Protect* Long time veteren, and big part of the Lakers organization. Don't see the Lakers exposing him.

Devean George - *Protect* In a major slump right now, but I have confidence that he will play like he did early in the season.

Horace Grant - *Unrestricted Free Agent*

Karl Malone* - *Protect* He is actually older than Horace Grant, but too valuable to expose. Even at age 40, he is very important to the Lakers.

Stanislav Medvedenko - *Unrestricted Free Agent*

Shaquille O'Neal - *Protect* No need to explain

Gary Payton - *Protect* GP controls this team.

Kareem Rush - *Protect* Lakers' future is pretty much in this guys hands if he doesn't leave.

Bryon Russell - *Unrestricted Free Agent*

Jamal Sampson - *Expose* Hasn't proved anything yet.

Luke Walton - *Protect* Lots of potential

Expansion drafts usually hurt the teams that are deep from 1-12 like Sacramento, Dallas, and San Antonio. It will be interesting to see who these teams expose to the Bobcats.

I would think that the Wizards would keep Jeffries, maybe give up Haywood, but then again they would have no size. They don't really need size in the East though.
