Would it be worth a first round pick to you guys to get out from under his contract? If it is, you could offer your first rounder in exchange for Charlotte taking Juwan. Then Charlotte could either keep him, or turn around and waive him with no penalty towards the luxury tax.

Who can they get with the 4th pick though? Okafor is most likely a lock for top 3, and this draft calss doesn't really have all that much to offer. I don't follow College, but I do follow the hype around players (Tim Duncan, Lebron, Carmelo, AI&lt; etc.). So far the only person i hear about in the draft is Okafor.

No, what I'm saying is that Orlando would give Charlotte its first round pick, and in return Charlotte would select Howard in the Expansion Draft. Thus taking Juwan's contract off the books for Orlando. Its like bribery, only it legal.

Something else to remember...

If your team has a Restricted FA and you don't protect him, he becomes a Unrestricted FA. So guys like Kenyon Martin, Quentin Richardson all have to be protected (those are no brainers). But guys like Swift, Dooling, Mihm, etc that are kinda up in the air due to lack of production could come back to haunt the team that fails to protect them.

Also, Flip Murray, Gadzuric, Lonny Baxter, and Boozer would all fall under that as 2nd rounders 2 years ago.

Your right. I also think McCarty will leave the Celtics because he has said in papers that the team isn't what it was, the resilient, coming back for more Celtics, and that he doesnt feel at home anymore.
