how can you say LeBron is a better defensive player, that is simply moronic. He doesnt go downlow and try to help out Zydrunas or Carlos in the low post, and he doesnt exactly always get a hand in his mans face. Everytime he scores big, it seems like the man he is guarded scores more, Pierce, McGrady, Mobley, etc.....

I said neither is exactly superb defensivly yet however Lebron at the very least isn't a liability. I've seen him clamp down from time to time although he goes through lapses as well. Melo just doesn't seem to have great one on one talent defensivly. Maybe that's just from not learning defense playing in a zone in college but right now he's a liability. He helps out more often but that's a function of his position. Lebron was playing the 1 for most of the year and he's either guarding 1's or 2's where as Melo is a forward who is guarding people closer to the basket. It's harder to help out when you are guarding 1's and 2's. Melo's assignments have lit him up far more often. If you haven't noticed, then you need to remove your Melo colored glasses.

hav u even watched a Nuggets or Cavs game? LeBron gets lit up almost every night. Pierce dropped 40+ on him & so did TMAc, Mobley 20+. LeBron's defense is horrid. Even the analysis that ride brons sack at NBA TV admit that, and thats strange...

'Melo has been playing against Tim Dunca, Peja Stojackovic, Kevin, the big guys like that that score big.

For most of the year LeBron was playing point guards, who arent known for scoring, then he played against shooting guards, like Pierce & McGrady who lit his *** up!

Are you even watching your own team? Melo doesn't defend Tim Duncan, KG, etc. When he has faced someone like Peja, he didn't even get close to slowing him down.

If you want to throw out defense for both players when making a comparison, then I'll just say that Lebron does more on the offensive end. Melo is just a finisher. Lebron is both a creater and a finisher. Melo doesn't see the floor very well, isn't the greatest ball handler, and only an average passer. He gets a flashy pass in here or there however he doesn't make good decisions on the fly usually.

I'm not even a Bron-Bron fan. I'm just calling it like I see it.
