if you have ever watched highlights of games, he always gets nice passes or fast break points, they rarely show plays of him taking a man one on one and schooling him. I mean its pretty simple, melo can't create for himself as well as lebron. Ok lets look at some indivudal points to see who is better.
Hops: Lebron
Speed: Lebron
Handles: Lebron
Passing: Lebron
Different ways of scoring: Lebron ( Carmelo finishes great, but Lebron would be able to in those type of situtaions as well)
Shooting: Melo
Taking it to the hole: Lebron
Defense: Lebron
Rebounds: Lebron (yeah melo averages 0.5 more rebounds per game, but Lebron is a PG and Melo is a SF, totally different positions when it comes to rebounding)
Court Vision: Lebron
Stamina: Lebron (Melo even admitted this on an interview)
Well there you have, i can't really think of any particular area where melo is better except for shooting. I mean melo is good, and i really like him, but i personally feel lebron is bettter. And i know that you are going to say that i am a lebron man and melo *****, but before they were drafted, i wanted james to be a bust, and melo to do really well. But lebron showed that he just has too much talent.

Thats why they are called highlights. taking your man one on one isnt always exciting. If you've watched actual games you would see Melo create for himself. Lebron, like I said before, doesnt play PG, he plays 2 guard, thats why Mccinnis handles the ball, so that doesnt make him a better rebounder.
I have to disagree with you on different ways of scoring, taking it to the hole and defense. first of all, melo is just as versatile as Bron, thats a tie. And while bron takes it to the hole hard, melo finishes better. And third, defense isnt about what appears on the stat sheet, you see whether or not someone can defend by watching them play, seeing their presence.
Hops, speed, stamina are things lebron has due to a gifted body. thats said, its not like melos hops or stamina are far enough below lebrons for it to make a difference. Passing and Court Vision are PG specific, so your categories arent a fair way of saying who is better, and you dont back up your choices.
In fact there is no one way to say who is better. Tmac, kobe, pierce, iverson? Noone knows who the better player is, theres no one way to figure that out. and at least those guys play the same position. Lebrons a PG who'll play on the wing until he makes better decisions. Melo is a 3 and thats his position.

Actually, yes they are. Melo is not even in the same league as Lebron athletically. The fact that Lebron is actually bigger and taller than Melo, yet is able to play point guard (even though he isn't now) only speaks to how freakish the kid is. Lebron could run circles around Melo. Melo is an average athlete who knows how to play the game. That's why his upside isn't even comparable to Lebron's.
