well, i really don't know what Gary Payton expected. I thought he came here to win a champoinship, thats why he took less money. Why is he suddenly bringing up these issues about playing time and not fitting in the offense. Gary, if u wanted playing time and wanted to be the Man, then you shouldn't have signed with the Lakers.

In a post-game interview today Gary said that its wasn't about him not getting the ball, or scoring, etc. He just wants to help the team so people like the ones and here don't taint his reputation by saying he jumped on a bandwagon without doing anything.

Well, you can't shut the haters up. They'll find one way or another to diss a player, regradless of what they do. If the Lakers win a championship , it will be because of all four of those guyz and not JUST Shaq and Kobe. They didnt win one last year with Shaq and Kobe and winning this year obviously means the the Malone and Payton had alot to do with it. I honestly think the Lakers don't have a chance without Payton. This year the Elite teams this year are probably the most equal in terms of talent and depth, and the LA needs all it can get to win it.

The thread does become relativly quiet when the Lakers win and GP has the usual GP game.
