The Bulls' game-plan for the immediate future is coming into focus. League sources with knowledge of Chicago's plans say that they'll definitely be looking to deal Luol Deng before the Feb. 20 trading deadline. Deng is a free agent this summer and the Bulls don't want to pay him anything close to top dollar.

The second part of their house-cleaning: They intend on using their amnesty move this coming summer to part ways with Carlos Boozer. Boozer is scheduled to make $16.8 million next season. As we reported earlier, Derrick Rose has caught wind of the plans and is none too thrilled about being part of a rebuilding project. Tom Thibodeau won't be very happy with it, either

I'm pretty sure whoever will trade for Deng will be looking to contend since he is on the last year of his contract. Same thing with Gasol. So obviously an east team would make sense but I'm not sure if Philly wants him. I could see him possibly being traded to Cleveland.

meh, cleveland isnt contending with any trade they make...which is why i dont get why they want pau unless he agrees to extend.

Yeah they won't contend but for whatever reason they want to make the playoffs and a guy like Gasol or Deng could help them do it.

Cavs have acquired Luol Deng according to Brian Windhorst or whatever his name is.

Interesting.

The Cavs make some interesting decisions, that's for sure. From the draft picks to the signings now this trade. I wonder what the draft pick is? I wonder if they could have got a better draft pick? I don't know that Deng is going to stick around after the season.

Bulls also now will look completely different next season.

Wait a second, the Cavs gave up a pick? What?

they gave up a top 10 protected '14 1st they have form sac....i sincerely hope deng DOESNT resign in cleveland and sacremento finishes with the 11th pick

2014 first round draft pick from Sacramento
Sacramento's 1st round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 1-12 in 2014, 1-10 in 2015, 1-10 in 2016 or 1-10 in 2017; if Sacramento has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Cleveland by 2017, then Sacramento will instead convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 56-60 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Cleveland will be extinguished) [Cleveland-Sacramento, 6/30/2011]

Oh and the 2nd rounders they gave up.
