No matter what history says about young bigs who have injuries, some team in the top 5 will draft him. It's more likely top 3

So now the pressure is on Philly to trade up to the number one pick. With Embiid's injury, the chances of Wiggins slipping to number 3 are slim. I heard Philly was offering the third pick and Thad Young for the first, I wonder if they will offer even more.

A big man with back AND foot issues? And he's still very young?

Proceed with utmost caution because eventually, one of those two will become issues in the future.

Too bad for Philly that Cleveland doesn't need Thad Young at all.

To be fair didn't he just start playing basketball not even 5 years ago? I'm sure he's still learning how to take care of his body. Injuries are unpredictable honestly hopefully this doesn't make him slide too much or he can fall into our laps

I think Embiid will be fine in the long run. In the short term, I really hope he can drop to 7. My Lakers need a franchise changing center. See ya, Pau.

What's the rough time frame for him to be back on the court? Or is he likely done for the season (similar to Brook Lopez)

With appropriate physiotherapy management, most patients with a stress fracture of the navicular can make a full recovery (return to sport or full activities) in a period of 3 - 9 months. In more severe cases, recovery may take 1 year, or longer, depending on the intervention required and a range of other factors. In rare cases, some patients may experience ongoing symptoms or complications which may require further management.

read some other website that said it usually doesnt require surgery unless its near the high end of recovery

Chad Ford @chadfordinsider · 20m After polling teams, currently Embiid's range appears to be 3-6 right now. Could change when teams see medicals.

Anybody seeing that story about Smart turning down Jazz workouts? He must have a commitment from a team already same thing Waiters did.

The Cavs are going to have to get blown away by an offer or switch spots with the Bucks in order to move.

Like, I'm talking 3, 10, Next year's unprotected first and Nerlens Noel to drop to 3.

I could not think of a worse trade for the 76ers to make. Ever.

That's talking potentially Nerlens Noel, Dante Exum, Doug McDermott, and a huge chance at Jahil Okafor for Andrew Wiggins. Like, that's the kind of discussion that ends up in blocked phone numbers.

Yeah I would never take Thad's contract considering he's not much of an upgrade anywhere they play him.

Thompson, Bennett, Zeller, Varejao all see minutes at PF.

And assuming they are now drafting Wiggins/Parker they have no need for a small forward with the pick, Gee, Miles all getting minutes there. Possibly Deng, though unlikely.

There is absolutely no way the Cavs trade down now, unless they get 3, 10 and Young at minimum. What would be the motivation to trade down just for Young?
