At least that's what I think was going on in that conversation. I didn't go back and read.

But I think Utah would take Exum at 5, play him at shooting guard. Hayward at small forward, Burks stays 6th man.

I'd be ecstatic with either Exum or Parker. Exum could play at the SG for us and help Trey and Gordon get better shots, all while getting Kanter and Favors nice looks on PNRs.

But then there's Parker. It's clear that Hayward isn't going to be our #1 scorer moving forward, so that's where Jabari steps in. Even if we have to slide Gordon up to the 2 and start Trey, Gordon, Jabari, Kanter, and Favors, then we have a solid lineup with Burks and Gobert off of the bench. Parker could also stretch to the 4 when we need him to, which is incredibly valuable.

I feel like there's a decent amount of talented young bigs in the league today... they aren't like we saw in the 80s and 90s, and their roles are more diminished because of the more perimeter oriented style of the league today, but we have some talented young guys like the aforementioned Davis, Drummond, Boogie, Serge (Who some forget is only 24) for example.

Yeah there are plenty of very good big men in the NBA. Just not many back to the basket guys like there used to be.

Sorry, but Orlando passing on Parker is ridiculous.

              1. Afflalo does not play the 3. If Parker started at the 3, Orlando would do the same thing they did last year-rotate Oladipo through both Jameer and Afflalo, and Oladipo would still get 25-30mpg. It's not a solution at point guard, but you don't draft for need at the 4th position when you lack a ton of developed talent like Orlando does.

              2. Tobias Harris showed last year he's best in a 6th man role.

              3. Moe Harkless plays good defense and expanded his offense last year, but he also may have just been a small standout on an overall bad team.

              4. If it's between Exum and Parker, while Exum is a great prospect, putting him next to Oladipo gives you a backcourt with very suspect shooting. Yes, Oladipo developed his shot well in his rookie year, but there's no guarantee that both of the player's jumpers will pan out the way they need to. Parker does not give you this issue, and you can take a PG with shooting skills at 12.

With Randle recent "surgery" news I'm a more worried than ever about our pick. A lot of people still have us getting Gorden or Voleh which I don't want neither.

Afflalo is a SG, but he did play small forward for them some last season. According to basketball reference he spent more time at small forward than he did at shooting guard..

                          Re: 2014 Draft Discussion

                          My own mock draft(1-10):

                          1. Cleveland Cavaliers - Jabari Parker SF 6-9 240lbs Fr. - Cleveland is hard. They don´t need point guards. Then they have four positions where they have decent player, but not enough good. But still, it goes between Parker and Wiggins, and they take Parker because of their second positins. It´s like comparing Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters. I would pick Waiters out of those two, so if they can´t play their draft pick in their own positions, Cavs need more power forward than shooting guard.

                          2. Milwaukee Bucks - Joel Embiid C 7-0 250lbs Fr. - Bucks need both center and small forward. But if Larry Sanders can´t play on the level that he played before his injury, they need a center. Embiid has one of the greatest upsides in the draft, and he could help the Bucks more than Wiggins.

                          3. Philadelphia 76ers - Andrew Wiggins SF 6-8 200lbs Fr. - Wiggins is the only person left in the "Big 3". 76ers could really use a small forward, especially if they get Nerlens Noel to play. They also could use a shooting guard, what Wiggins can also play.

                          4. Orlando Magic - Julius Randle PF 6-9 250lbs Fr. - I know that most of you think that Magic should get Dante Exum. I don´t think so. Jameer Nelson might be 32, but he plays he´s best basketball in his career. Also Victor Oladipo can play some point guard. Julius Randle is something that the Magic could use. They need a big man, but not a center.

                          5. Utah Jazz - Doug McDermott SF 6-7 220lbs Sr. - I see Gordon Hayward as a shooting guard. That makes the Jazz needing a small forward. McDermott was one of the best scorers in NCAA last season. Only thing that might lower McDermott´s draft stock is that he is a senior.

                          6. Boston Celtics - Noah Vonleh PF 6-9 247lbs Fr. - The Celtics don´t need a guard, since they have Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley. Jared Sullinger will play their center. Jeff Green is their small forward, so it leaves with power forward. Noah Vonleh would be great for them.

                          7. Los Angeles Lakers - Dante Exum PG 6-6 196lbs Intl-95. - Los Angeles needs a point guard, because Steve Nash has lost his touch. Dante Exum would be great for Lakers, because if Kobe Bryant can´t get healthy, they can run with Dante in 2.

                          8. Sacramento Kings - Aaron Gordon PF 6-9 220lbs Fr. - Sacramento could get Marcus Smart if this would be the real NBA draft. But Isiaiah Thomas scored over 20 points per game, so why they would draft another point guard? Power forward is something that they need, and Gordon is great for them.

                          9. Charlotte Hornets - Zach LaVine PG 6-6 190lbs Fr. - Charlotte lacks a shooting guard. It was close that I would put Marcus Smart here. But LaVine is more like combo guard. He has one of the best athleticisms in the draft, and with that size, could play great with Kemba Walker.

                          10. Philadelphia 76ers - Marcus Smart PG 6-3 227lbs So. - As I said above, the 76ers needs a shooting guard. Smart is natural point guard, but he could play shooting guard. He is strong and would compliment MCW, Nerlens Noel and Andrew Wiggins.

                          ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember, this is my own mock draft. These are based on my analysis on the teams needs. There could come steals in this mock draft.

After seeing that video I would be really surprised if Jabari still weighs 240lbs.

Also I'll be really surprised if any team try's to play him at PF, other than for short stretches during games or if the other team is running a small forward at the power forward slot.. Example - Miami starting Battier

He doesn't have a choice, he goes to who draft him or he never plays a minute in the NBA.

                                Joe Lull on CBS Radio:

-Cavs likely still open to moving pick but have to be blown away.
                                - He doesn't think they have made a decision on anything yet.
                                - If the Sixers offer #3 and #10 he believes the Cavs should be all over that, wouldn't be interested in Thad Young and #3.
                                - only way the Cavs deal the #1 to a team like the Sixers is if it is a multi-team deal with the Cavs acquiring multiple picks and assets/veterans.

Looks like Philly would need to send 3,10 and MCW to get #1.
