Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Where did I say he wouldn't improve? I said it was a possibility. There are a bunch of guys every year that don't improve once they get into the NBA.

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Speaking of busts, who do you guys think will be steals?
I think Kyle Anderson was a perfect fit for the Spurs, and that Cleanthony Early will end up being a rotation guy for a lot of years.

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
He's really not that NBA ready. He has a lot of potential, but needs a ton of work on his offensive game. He has no move that he is “great" at. He needs to learn how to stay on the floor and play constant defense without fouling.

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
And your comment ignored the second part of my post, where you actually have to assess the players physical tools/context of role to really have it translate to something you can use to assess a player.
Randle has the strength to offer resistance in the post, and he's only going to get bigger and stronger. So while yes, as a PF, his Block percentage is also lower than what you would like, he makes up for it with defense on the ball, and forcing guys out. Something McDermott couldn't and won't do at any level. Unfortunately at this point, this is all we have to assess him defensively, because he was featured almost exclusively at the 4. However, when he was on the perimeter, and especially in pick and roll situations, he didn't look good, even when he put himself in good position.
Luckily he goes to a team with the best team defense in the league.
You can spew out all these great offensive stats you want (Plenty of players before had great offensive numbers and didn't do anything in the league) but what is being ignored is how he got them. He has a post game, but with his lack of strength, he won't be nearly as effective, and most of his points (I believe 31%) came from the line, mostly from that position, where he won't be playing.
I've said my piece on him. I'd imagine most guys like him because he is a high character guy, and people want him to succeed (as do I), but I just don't see it happening and knowing Thibs, guy probably won't play anything but garbage minutes his first year anyway.
But hell, I hope I eat a huge plate of crow and he turns into a productive rotation player, but I doubt it.Last edited by JODYE; 06-27-2014, 04:17 PM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

And people rip on me for my opinion.
Tearing up a garbage conference with 'meh' athletes versus the freak athletes in the NBA, is a damn night-and-day difference.
Can't believe people are defending Viktor Khryapa 2.0. SMH
I would've kept both picks, but that's just me.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I don't think keeping Hairston in Carolina was a good idea tbh. I always pegged him as a steal in the sense of a Tim Hardaway Jr.. I think going back to Carolina might keep him around some negative things... I would have loved to see him go to the Thunder, Grizzlies or Heat. Perfect fits IMO
Rodney Hood as well seems to be a smooth operator. To get him in the 20's isn't too bad I could see him being a swingman spark off the bench. I also think the Thunder, Grizzlies or Heat would have been a nice fit. Especially as a backup for Durant.Comment

One being taking advantage of teams wanting to get in this draft and getting future first rounders.Last edited by JODYE; 06-27-2014, 04:37 PM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I think those were both good picks later in the draft. I also like KJ McDaniels to the Sixers and Dinwiddie to the Pistons.

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Not to kill your excitement about Gee, but he had plenty of time to shine in Cleveland as we haven't had a good SF and he actually got worse.Don't get your hopes up about him. Besides, his contract is not guaranteed so Charlotte might just cut him and get cap space. You're better of with Jeffrey Taylor and mkgSOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

I think Rodney Hood has potential to be a solid backup or even starter for us down the road if we need him to be.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus
