Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Because 20 points per game would be something to get upset about?.. I hope you eat the biggest plate of crow for this man. He has load of offensive talent.
Highest shooting efficient in the draft, ranked 1st in shot off the dribble, first spotting up, and first shooting off screens. He scores in the post, he scores with the ball, without the ball.. Pretty much mastered the "Dirk" which is unblockable.
His combine results compare to guys like Melo and Klay Thompson, yet he's "unatheltic"...

Charlotte draft:
Noah Vonleh
P.J. Hairston
Alonzo Gee
Vonleh - seems like a pretty well rounded big man who is athletic. Shooting #'s are pretty solid in college. Super young so having a rotation of Al/Zeller/Vonleh will be pretty nice up front. This will light a fire under Zeller's butt to have a solid sophomore year.
Hairston - high risk/reward pick in my opinion. His own father admitted it would be better for Hairston if he was picked by a team outside of this area. I'm hoping he can distance himself from the nonsense. We'll see if the D-league numbers translate to NBA success. Fortunately he only has to beat out bum-*** Henderson.
Gee - I like it. A veteran who is looking for a spot to shine a little bit. I bet he's estatic on leaving Cleveland and coming to beautiful Charlotte.
I still wanted Stauskas though. I feel as though he's going to be a very, very good player.Last edited by NDAlum; 06-27-2014, 08:06 AM.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I don't know how to feel about our draft because I didn't see enough of Vonleh play at all but if he pans out then great. PJ will pan out if he stays out of Greensboro and we don't sign Lance Stephenson because he doesn't need that influence on him.
Hoping we sign Hayward and dump Hendo and Neal for a rook we should have drafted that is disgruntled in Minnesota

That's unreal he reacted like such a *****
I guess he's young at 19 so that can be his excuse for that gesture.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

More money + freedom to do whatever he wants.
That's the same reason why Bojan Bogdanovic stayed in Europe when drafted in 2011.Khalabeeb - Tony Henderson

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Can't help but feel disappointed with how the draft ultimately played out for Boston. That's not to say Smart and Young will be bad NBA players or anything. Rondo and Green are still here, no major move was made, as it stands now they are in no better shape than they were when the season ended. Obviously there is still time for changes to happen between today and training camp. Have a feeling this thing is unfortunately going to be a long, slow rebuilding process.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
But Boston is at least on a good way with 2 great prospects in this great draft, there are many teams with a much worse position. Both guys could help from day 1 and Rondo is still on the block. I guess the Cs are one good move away from position 3-5 in the east.
For the Kings: I really like Stauskas, but I think he went to early. There were better guys out there to reach for a team need, for example Vonleh. Hope he can have his impact and doesn´t end like Jimmer 2.0.
And how in the world can Young be undrafted? Wouldn´t be suprised if the gets on a team and plays a good role later.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I think the Hornets made out like bandits. Vonleh could become the best player in this draft pretty easily. Physical freak and has a really talented game for PF. He's the perfect fit for Jefferson and should become their best player pretty soon.
Also, Zach Lavine can go **** himself. You have a guy like Isaiah Austin who would almost give his life to be in the NBA, and Lavine is pouting like an *******. I hope Lavine is a bust and never amounts to anything because he doesn't respect the honor of being drafted in the first round. That was pathetic.Too Old To Game Club

He's a tweener who won't be able to guard anyone on the perimeter, and lacks the strength and wingspan to effectively defend in the post. His pick and roll defense also leaves a lot to be desired. Apparently alot of you missed the Baylor game where he faced NBA level athleticism in the front court and was made pretty much useless.
I get it being a "cap move", but get someone who is going to be able to create their own shot at the next level off the dribble. How many times are we going to run this experiment into the ground? Rose needs more than guys that can run off screens. If we don't get Melo, this move is even worse than it already is.
If they didn't want the additional pick, trade for futures or something.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I do like Charlotte's draft quite a bit. Vonleh has as much potential as anyone and Hairston is a lottery talent. I do worry about Hairston staying out of trouble and Vonleh never quite developing. I wish maybe we'd gone with a safer pick, but there is no doubting the potential here. If both these guys work out then we got two big steals.Tennessee Volunteers

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I don't care about Lavine or Minnesota at all, but I seriously doubt someone would be that dumb to publicly display his dismay for a city and team he was just drafted to.
If he really is that dumb, I don't have anything to say.Khalabeeb - Tony Henderson
