as far as anderson goes, i think he could be a hedo turkoglu, but the good orlando hedo, not phoenix/toronto.

I'll admit, I don't watch as much College Hoops as I used to, but I have watched plenty of games with McDermott. I think he's one of those phenomenal college players who won't cut it at the pro level.

He's a tweener. If you're a tweener at the NBA level, you better have insane athletic ability and/or skills, i.e. Iverson.

I'm of the mindset that when you draft a guy in the first round, he *SHOULD* eventually be in the starting lineup, like a Jimmy Butler. You don't move up to the 11-spot to take guy that you pretty much know will come off the bench for his entire career.

Look, I'd love to eat crow on this, but I just don't see it with this guy.

Can't really say that considering we've overhauled the majority of our organization

How about we let him play a damn minute of NBA basketball before we determine he'll be a career bench guy. Jimmy wasn't gonna get his *** off a bench under Thibs either until Derrick Rose blew out his knee and Luol got hurt following that.

New GM. I would trust in Ujiri and ignore history.

Bull****. Jimmy was eventually going to be a starter regardless of who got hurt. And every Bulls fan knew Luol was going to be gone. You know better, man.

Even so there are plenty of other comparisons you can make with this same context. Klay Thompson was supposed to be too non-athletic to play defense at the NBA level. Not only did he prove that wrong but he's become pretty good defensively, easily above average.

There is just too many variables to say any individual absolutely can or cannot do something at the next level... Saying "Doug cannot guard any small forwards in the NBA".. How would we know that? He hasn't stepped on the court yet.

The only for sure about him is that he's an outstanding shooter. That translates to any league. And with Rose attacking to create for him he should get plenty of opportunities to show that.

Bruh I was sitting right here with every other OS Bulls fan wondering why Jimmy couldn't get any burn in his rookie season and to start that second year he was still on the bench until Luol started missing games. Mind you Marco was there and Nate so he wasn't even running at 2 guard that year so him starting wasn't a thing anybody was talking about until damn near May. I'm not even arguing with you, I'm giving you facts.

You must've missed the word "eventually". lol

Can you honestly see McDermott being a viable starter?? C'mon man!

What about his game has you excited at this level?

I think if you're gonna be a tweener as a forward, you should be a good shooter, which Doug is. The first athletic combo forwards that come to mind are Derrick Williams and Anthony Randolph. If you like athletic tweeners, then you got one in Randolph.
