So Wade didn't go with Flash nickname because of infringement. Didn't know you could trademark a word. But okay.

Of course Reggie Evans had Joker.

    So...

Yeah, I looked at that wrong. Those are the foul out games.

Still don't think that settles it though. Like I was saying before LeBron routinely goes through seasons with 3 or less fouls in most games while other guys have multiple games with 4 or more and with his play style you would think he'd pick up a few more. Hell as bad as officiating is he's apparently getting even less than those normal 2 to 3 because everybody gets at least one bogus call a game on them.

Only reason I can come up with is because The Flash is a rather unique name that could be trademarked. Whereas Joker couldn't get a trademark because the word has been around longer than the character? Like the joker playing card?

As far as the number of fouls LeBron gets...I just don't see him getting away with excessive reaching or defensive contact on a regular...he seems to pick his spots...even to a fault...id love to see Grantland do an article on it...lol

Well it wasn't directed at you King..but I see what you're saying.

And it's nothing to do with copyright..Wade doesn't use the Flash nickname anymore.

“The Artist formally known as 'FLASH' no longer exists. This is a NEW CHAPTER in my life. A NEW ERA has begun…,” Wade wrote on his Twitter account.

A few minutes later he followed up with: “The content of my character has changed. I'm a [different] kind of man, father, an athlete. Evolution is necessary 4 growth.. change is inevitable.”

                Thanks for this.

The article I read made it sound as if Wade wanted Flash but the League denied it.

Samuel Dalembert is making a much bigger impact on the Mavs' success then I expected him to. Per 48 minutes with Dalembert in the lineup, the Mavs outscore their opponents by 7.8, with Blair it's only 4.5 per 48. If the Mavs want to have any kind of success going forward and going into the playoffs, they need Dalembert to be a starter and to play with the kind of energy he has the last few games.

i think if you look at not only foul outs but # of fouls a game you will see lebron gets huge star treatment, even compared to others....he plays MUCH more intense and physical on defense AND offense than any other player except for maybe CP3...its completely laughable he hasnt fouled out atleast once a year......but the NBA has to make their money...

MJ was way worse when it came to that. Dude played in your shorts and they rarely called anything on him. NBA couldn't have him sitting on the bench in foul trouble.

Everybody always cries about not being able to lay a finger on him when he had the ball, but this was the bigger problem.

Will start looking more closely...The majority of the time I am seeing Bron give his man quite a bit of room, or playing loosely...(hard to even play tight man D the way the Heats defense plays). You hardly see Bron go heads on with any one at the rim either, he's always at an angle..

I want to see were all this fouling on defense is taking place...definitely will pay more attention..

This is the small issue I have with hand picking names and saying they don't get called for fouls.

It feels like the opinion is that a great offensive player gets the special treatment defensively.

Why is it not possible that the names listed just happen to be smart defensive players that don't commit fouls?

I mean they are great athletes for a reason. It's not just about putting ball in basket. Kyle Korver can put the ball in the basket but no one considers him a great player. So there's more to it.

Because fans in general refuse to give them the benefit of the doubt and would rather just say that "The Ref missed a call on him, etc".

I'd love to see someone here keep count of something like this among the star players. Don't think anyone would because it would require watching every single game and every single minute(basically too much work to prove some Message Board Folk wrong)but it'd be interesting to see the numbers at the end of the season.

That being said, to change the subject...big ups last night to Shaun, Paul and Joe last night. Dudes balled their asses off, especially Shaun and despite the Heat making a run, the Nets would respond back with their own blow. Not bad considering that prior to the last 2 meetings, they lost 13 in a row to Miami so the fact that they split the season series with them(Heat will take the home meetings)at least they shown they can hang with him.

Tonight's the real test for them though.
