Re: 2014 Eastern Conference Playoffs -1st Round Discussion Thread
“We were a soft team tonight,” Pierce said.
“[That’s] frustrating, especially when you have an opportunity [to win]. That is where the game is won — in the trenches. We can’t give up [19] offensive rebounds, especially. That is tough to overcome.”
We probably won't outrebound Toronto but we can't give up that many Offensive Boards.#RespectTheCultureComment

Force 21 Turnovers but then give up 19 Offensive Rebounds alone(basically allowing Toronto to replace those TOs)and then give up 36 pts in the 4th and allowing DeRozan to takeover the quarter while playing with 5 fouls. Gotta get these corrected by Friday.

What do you think about Pierce saying that after he shot 2-11 and missed that big 3?
I mean what he said was the truth (no pun intended) but it's always a little weird seeing a guy who shot that poor make a comment.
Also, who was guarding Derozoan when he went off in the 4th? I was only watching my Wiz.Comment

Re: 2014 Eastern Conference Playoffs -1st Round Discussion Thread
I figured since he said "We were a soft team" that he was including himself into that, especially since he and KG are all about the team or at least that's been the narrative about them for all these years.
If he had something like "Guys were soft tonight" then I'd probably be like "You weren't much better bro" even though he wasn't. But I get what you're saying though.
And Johnson was guarding DeRozan down the stretch and Anderson was on him as well for a small stretch. But once he got hot, it didn't matter who was guarding him because he was hitting some tough shots on some good D(pause) as well.#RespectTheCultureComment

Both games in series so far, the team who used their bench the least seemed to win. Game 1 Raptors used 12 guys and lost. Game 2 Nets used 11 guys and lost.
Based on last years Brooklyn playoff crowd(and comparing it to Toronto crowd in first 2 games of this series), how loud(or not loud) are Nets fans?Last edited by Majingir; 04-23-2014, 01:51 PM.Comment

He randomly became the best LeBron stopper in the league lol

Mostly because Lebron was in a shooting slump. Diaw didn't do anything extraordinary on Lebron. He sagged off and kept his body between Lebron and the rim. That's it.Comment

Re: 2014 Eastern Conference Playoffs -1st Round Discussion Thread
I just feel that if you're asking for Jimmer for no real reason other than to shake things up offensively then you have to be counting yourself out of advancing..
I feel like Hinrich getting exposed should be the least of our concerns. Bulls are doing exactly what everyone feared; going dry at the worst times and not being able to match the intensity they had all year. The Bulls were really close to winning that game last night, and if they did everyone excuses that dry spell and looks forward to G3. I mean, asking for Jimmer and not expecting him to 'save them' has me even more confused. Gimme Snell as he is entirely more dynamic than Jimmer, stay the course, and beat a team that you have no business losing to. I mean, it's admirable what this Washington team is doing (and looking forward, gotta be pumped) but this Bulls team is just playing poorly and I really do think it's that simple.
Hinrich will never get the proper respect, anyways. He can't shoot, we know this, but he does what Tom needs his PG to do and I don't see Jimmer getting any of his PT. The Bulls defense has been poor all around, they are never going to beat a team scoring 100 every game of the series. It's not like the Bulls defense has been impeccable and Hinrich clearly the weak link. Solve your defensive woes and the game will even out. I think we'll see a more concerted effort to get Dunleavy going early, and if successful the minutes will even out, too. I do agree that Thibs is one stubborn guy, but I'm really hoping he doesn't feel forced into doing something really weird like playing Jimmer Fredette for an extended period of time.
-edit
I shouldn't have even made the Jimmer comment, my comments above probably not organized as best they could be, but I think it's just a classic case of passionate fans wanting 'anything' to turn things around. It starts defensively, in my eyes. Jimmer might throw up 40 on some crazy night, but who says you win? Dunleavy has been benched in part because he has been struggling and because Thibs was playing for defensive stops. I agree with the Dunleavy criticism, even the Hinrich criticism, but I just thought the Jimmer thing was pretty wild. Sorry for having an opinion on that.Last edited by skywalkah; 04-23-2014, 02:35 PM.Comment

Yea he couldn't stop him once they had shooters in the game. Spurs defense was about sagging off of everyone and cutting off any lanes to the basket. Once the shooters were in. Diaw was on an island he never seen before.
But anyone hear about Lance getting into it with Evans Turner.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

That second part is a pretty important part of defense...especially within our game planComment

I'm actually surprised more teams aren't outrebounding the Raptors bench. Hansbrough/Patterson are good at being aggressive and all,but they're both basically small PFs. C is probably the Raptors weakest position bench wise. Last night for example, Chuck Hayes(the only other C on our team besides JV) didn't even play at all, though he's one of the smallest Cs out there(6'9).
Not as bad as this last game, but its definitely an issue.

I expect Game 3/4 to be just like Game 1 last year especially considering they're on a Friday and Sunday night.#RespectTheCultureComment

lol yeah, let's take some quotes right after a meaningful loss. Notice I wasn't saying stuff like that the morning and day after the game. I just noticed that a lot of you guys claimed to not care about whether or not the Bulls won the series but you're getting pretty confrontational with people just offering their opinions on the Bulls the day after the game.
I don't care who you're a fan of, I'm not gonna jump on you for being frustrated after a close loss, even if you're a Sixers or Bucks fan or whoever happens to be the worst team in the league.
I wasn't being completely serious either.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
NBA: Dallas Mavericks
MLB: Texas Rangers
NHL: Dallas Stars
NCAA: Alabama Crimson Tide
