    Tmac & Kobe are overrated.

I know it pisses people off, but it's true. Remember 2 years ago, when Kobe and Shaq were on 3 peat. People started cracking that Kobe was better than Shaq. May I ask you, where's Kobe in the playoffs? Yeah, he's made 2 clutch shots against the Rockets, but did you know he shot 33.9 % the first 4 games? What's Kobe done against Bowen? Or Christie lately? And it's a fact, LA will lose to San Antonio. Shaq got 33 and 15, and LA still lost. And remember TMac averaged 32 last year. He shot 42 % this year, that's bad. His team won 20 games!!!! My point is, a year or two ago, people were saying that Tmac or Kobe COULD be the next MJ, they aren't even as good as Clyde Drexler. Tmac's not even good on defense, and he's also an average passer, yeah he gets assists, but he doesn't make his teammates better, how can such a superstar only win 20 games in the EAST? Even Lebron won 35 games, and the same team only won 17 the year before. I honestly think Kobe and Tmac are way overrated, they are stars, but not superstars, cuz they aren't unstoppable on offense like Duncan, KG, or Shaq, and neither one is good defensively, Kobe is getting schooled by Ginobli and Parker, and Tmac gave up 30 and 35 points to an 18 yr old. Wow.

Re: Tmac & Kobe are overrated.

Also, MJ, Clyde and Pippen all shot around 50 %, whereas Kobe shot 44 % during the season, and in the playoffs this year and last year, he shot 40 %. And Tmac shot 42 % this year. The great ones do more than just score lots of points, they score efficiently. think about it, even Lebron and Carmelo shot 42 and 43 %, and averaged 21 points, it just goes to show that a lot of players can score a ton of points if given enough shots, but that don't make you a great player. To be truly great, you should shoot a high percentage, there's no point in one player taking all those shots when they shoot such an awful percentage, and even in Tmac's case, when his teammates suck, his scoring doesn't make a difference, Orlando was 20 and 62. Wow. Players like MJ, Scottie, and Clyde made a difference even when their teammates weren't great because when they scored, they shot a high percentage, they didn't miss a lot of shots in the process. I don't hate Tmac or Kobe, I just see their overrated and not as good as Scottie, or Clyde, or MJ. On defense, these 3 were also waayy better, they way Tmac gets torched by Lebron, a frickin 18 yr old, or seeing Kobe get blown by Parker, Ginobli, christie, I'm not impressed.

I will hold off commenting on most stuff but the sad thing about a guy like Kobe shooting low fg% is that he has Shaq with him. There should be no excuse for low fg% and in fact most decent players would agree in a flash that their fg % would go up if they played with Shaq.
I will overlook TMac a little because he doesn't exactly have the help of a Pip or Shaq, similar to Iverson, he has had scrubs most seasons. (Though I still say he shoots too low regardless).

Pip and Drexler were about 47% for their career which is good. Yes defense and athleticism has improved but it's not responsible for such low %'s these days.

Mr. rbruns, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Everyone can have their opinion. He just didn't explain it clearly.

I make no secret that I think Kobe is over-rated. I agree, star, yes. Superstar, no. Not yet at least. Fact is, a superstar wouldn't perform and be outperformed the way Kobe has this post season. And his case is weakened by the fact that he has the most dominant player of all time right there with him. Not to mention the best power forward and arguably the best coach of all time too.

Feel free to call me any name under the sun. I'm happy with my opinions.

I guess Barkley said there are only 3 superstars in the L. Tim Duncan, KG, and Shaq. They are the only ones that can take a team over. It is kind of pointless to post stats of a couple of guys when the entire L can't shoot over 40 something %. Don't get me wrong, those two guys are good, but Nobody is MJ. Don't even compare anyone to MJ. The past IMO was greater than the present. With all they had, had the Bulls had a guy like Shaq on the team, there is no imagining what MJ could've been like. The guy was shooting over 50% through double and triple teams night in and night out.
