That's easier said than done. The free agent class isn't great either. If Melo doesn't go through, I don't see them being able to contend by making small moves. If Rose played at MVP level, I guess there would be a chance, but at this point, that's a big if.

DeRozan probably will need to play SOME SF now(only to get Vasquez/Williams some extra playing time since they might only get 10-12 mins a game if DeRozan stayed at SG all game long)

Woj says the Hawks are interested in Luol Deng. If they can get him for the right price, I like it.

Between Rose's non existent public personality, the injuries, and Noah's emergence I would consider Jo the leader of the Bulls as of today. If Melo joins them Rose is by far the biggest question mark of the 3.

I think Rose is only concerned with trying to get his career back on track and I can't say that I blame him for that.
          Good job! Good effort!

Really odd that Atlanta would give up Lucas Nogueira so quickly. I don't get it...

Rose is still the leader of that team. They still rally around him, they still look up to him, Jo more than anybody. Derrick is leader of that team until he gets traded, is forced to retire or dies. Only difference is Jo's voice carries a lot more weight now.

Pretty sure this was the last year we could give Wade and Rose that same treatment. The "just wait til they're healthy" treatment. Just need to accept that they'll never be the same player and move on.

Not saying Rose won't still be the leader or a great PG, but the days of waiting around for him to be better should be over

How much cap space is Atlanta actually saving with all this? I don't even pretend to keep up with guys contracts, or even care about them for the most part..

But hypothetically could they add two guys? Like Lance and Deng/Parsons/Hayward.

Or just one of those guys plus Ariza, Tucker, Young..

I mean they could get significantly better. Or is it out of possibility?

That's the thing; most Bulls fans know he won't be like the Rose of 2011. So he needs to step it up in other areas. Such as recruiting guys, ESPECIALLY because he's not the same.

Why is it okay for Jo Noah to do it?? Is Derrick too cool for it?

I don't think Rose's injury will be a lingering effect like Wade's.. His first injury was the more concerning one and he bounced back looking good from an athletic stand point.. This second one is relatively minor if I'm not mistaken, most guys come back from it just as good as before..

I personally don't believe Rose will ever be quite the player he was in 2011, but I don't think he will have to if they have pieces around him, and he should still have quite a few great years ahead of him.

Is this an off the court type reference?

If I'm Atlanta I'm going after Lance hard.
