Just some FWIW, the Clippers and Cavs are talking about S&T Hawes or Deng for Jamal Crawford.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
There's better options than Melo and Pau landing in Chicago together with that core? I'm not talking about Pau replacing Taj. There's a scenario where they keep Taj and sign Pau to a two, three year deal at most. Pau is 34 man, ain't nobody looking at him for a long term plan. Come on 23

Where are the bulls going to get all this money from? your going to have to trade/amnesty boozer just to MAYBE have room to get Carmelo and thats if he wants to take a paycut.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
so by trading butler/gibson after signing melo the bulls CAN get love if they amnesty booz
but they were saying on espn FA special that melo absolutely wants taj to be on the bulls, so they wont be getting melo and love.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Butler only makes like what, $2 mil or so? So I'm guessing for their even to be an outside possibility they would have to trade Butler AND Taj?
Love is great and all, but if your goal is to win now you don't ship out two starters and wind up with the worst bench in the league just to land him.
Makes 100% more sense to me for them to just try and land Gasol after they get Melo. Worst case scenario is them maybe shipping off Dunleavy to have the cap room, that's far better than dumping half your core.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
i think the news of pau staying in LA with melo help the lakers a bit.
also heard last night on nbatv that melo/kobes wives are good friends. and we all know the wife is gonna have some say in this. still think its chicago or NY, but id move LA to 3rd now over dallas but still very unlikelyComment

Again, where is Chicago getting the money for Melo and Gasol? they already have to dump boozer just to hope Melo takes a somewhat significant paycut (talking 5 mil range). if Gasol was going to take 6-8 Mil then why not just go play in Miami and have a better chance then Chicago to get a ring?Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I would take it for the sole purpose that they need a solid big on the bench. (Assuming Big baby isn't coming back.) I also think deng (praying he stays healthy) could provide a very good lock down defender that the clippers were missing last year.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
because chicago with melo is better than miami...a pau/melo combo would likely see boozer sent to LAComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I don't see the Cavs moving both for Crawford, likely Deng because the Clips don't really have a great SF option IMO plus he does get them the defense they need like you mentioned. I think the Cavs really want to keep Hawes because he's a fit in their new system but he seems like he wants to go out west closer to homeComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
You know Miami has seen 4 straight finals right? must be a bulls fan. Rose has missed 2 and a half years, the chances are he returns as good as he is, or even staying healthy at this point are pretty slim.
outside of Rose who do they have? Noah that's about to be 31 (or 30 IIRC) and an aging Gasol as your 2 and 3 options? Yeah that's not even close to Lebron-Bosh-Wade who still averaged 27-16-19 PPG plus they could add some solid bench defense pieces. Be realistic here.Comment
