Better believe Jerry Reinsdorf(Bulls Owner) is going to fight that Boozer amnesty as long as he can. I think in the end, he'll eventually give in to Gar and Pax.

2014 Off-Season Thread
I highly assume Hill and Davis will command way too much for Miami to sign either of them. I'm just speculating.
I don't think Stuckey gets much. He's more of a PG than a SG, because he's not a great shooter. But he's a good Wade sub.. But their are no rumors to him going to Miami, so I'm pretty much just tossing out names..
For some reason I've had a gut feeling Vince Carter is coming over for about a year now. Would be cool if he could bring Blair or Marion with him, but highly unlikely..
If Boozer does get amnestied Heat could get him for next to nothing because he's still getting paid 16mil.. If they landed him, Gasol, Vince, or just Gasol, Vince, Blake, they'll be in good shape.
I'm just tossing out names for the sake of saying there is still a lot of value out there, especially since Miami isn't trying to hit a home run like a lot of teams.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
so it was hou-tor for lowry, i wonder how much melo played into it. did lowry want to accept a 4th option role? did he want to be a teams 2nd option for FA?
also, wonder how much the east being terrible and the west being a 50 win 8 seed plays into itComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Kyle Lowry signing for that contract is good news for the Suns, I'd say. Bledsoe's number comes down, and one more asset off the table for Miami.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Probably just 4 finals appearances and 2 championships with the entire core returning.. Not sure he really needs to "sell" anything. The success they've had should sell itself.
Though I'm not against him leaving, just don't see it being likely.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
OJ, but miami might need to hit a homerun. if pau and/or melo go to chicago thats a huge threat. also these other contender/fringe contender east teams are getting better, and so arent the west teams. it seems like they are happy sitting still while the rest of the league moves forward/backward so to speak
id call it a great strategy, but with wades knees, ray's age, chalmers dissapearance. im just not convinced.
also dont forget fellas, theres no state tax in floridaLast edited by turty11; 07-02-2014, 10:49 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Besides the great weather, lovely women, and the awesome nightlife that Miami has to offer, as well as 4 straight Finals appearances, including 2 rings, a max contract, the chance to be loyal when the going gets tough (if you can call a Finals loss "tough"), and arguably the biggest hot spot when it comes to veteran free agents looking to take a pay cut to compete for a championship, Riley has nothing left to sell LeBron now that Kyle Lowry won't sign for them.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
meh on broussard, but windhorst and tom penn were also there agreeing. they said LA would get a SnT if pau is gone so they can atleast put a team out there capable of winning games.
@cavs i think 3 is doable, if one is caron, but then were talking resign bird/ray/beasley/lewis for very little, and im guessing all of them will have offers from other teams
caron probly taking a vet min salary, stucky probly getting 5-7 a year, hill and davis somewhere in the 4-6 rangeComment

Four straight Finals appearances, two rings, and Miami being a hot spots for veteran free agents "looking to take a pay cut" (which hasn't born itself out in this free agency thus far) are direct results of LeBron James being there. Wherever he goes, that will undoubtedly follow.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Now with Lowry staying, where do people see Raptors finishing next year?
Same starting lineup as one used since they dealt Gay, but now a much more improved bench(2013 1st round pick in Nogueria added to C,2014 1st round pick in Bruno added to SF,Lou Williams added to G and all they've really lost from 2013 playoff team is John Salmons). So basically same team as playoff one, except added 2 first round picks to their bench and a veteran guard, not to mention will get to have this type of team for a full 82 games(compared to only 62 or so last season)
That, combined with fact that Celtics haven't made any huge trades/signings. Knicks losing Carmelo. 76ers still going through that rebuilding phase. And who knows what's going on in Brooklyn anymore. Best scenario I see is a low 50s win total from them.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
i wonder how next years draft will play into some of these teams decisions. 2 legit 7 footers sitting there along with some real solid guards
@majin, honestly it depends what happens with the wizards/bulls/paces/heat in the rest of FA
i think they will win the division again, but where they finish in the top 4..thats up in the air. i wont say first, but i think 2-3 is also a decent posiblityComment
