Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Pau could change the landscape if he starts to care about winning again...
Pau Gasol will meet with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors in free agency.
The New York Knicks are also believed to be interested in Gasol, while the Los Angeles Lakers haven't been ruled out.
Gasol has been with the Lakers since being traded there by the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2008.
Via Mike Bresnahan/Los Angeles Times
I already have my two teams in Cleveland and Toronto but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see the Thunder win. I don't want to see them be like the Trail Blazers from a few years back or countless other teams that have all the potential in the world and never win a title.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Guess I should put everything aside and cheer for a well-noted scumbag that beat his wife, crashed his car while driving drunk and power-tripped his way out of town.badComment

I'll be rooting for the team.
I guess I don't see much of a point of being a Bucks fan if you're rooting for the team's bright future to be burned to the ground just because you're unhappy with one member of the team.
Anyways, do what you gotta do. No big deal either way.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I'm not getting what's wrong with Kidd the coach with his overall record.
Do I like Kid the person, no, but the jury is out on Kidd the coach?
Here is an interesting read on the Nets/Bucks mess.

Yeah, based on what I've read about his coaching, he seems like a perfect fit for what Milwaukee is looking for.
Obviously he's made some very poor choices in the past, but I can forgive enough to still root for Milwaukee to continue the rebuild.NFL: Bills

I think he is developing into a good coach, but after this **** that he pulled, I wouldn't want anything to do with him. Especially when he already had a pretty poor track record with getting along with his superiors.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
To clear up few other things:
-Those draft picks are a joke and if I was The Russian, I would've gave Kidd the L.Frank treatment out of spite. Not like Kidd would have a strong argument to stand on. It's an even bigger joke that they basically tampered with him(which in reality, it probably won't be proven just like it was never proven we tampered with Dwight Howard when we were trying to get him from Orlando a few years ago).
-His plan was never to coach Milwaukee. His plan was to go over there and just get full control from beginning since he had a hook up over there that was willingly(Read: Stupid enough)ready to give it to him after only 1 year of Coaching. He wanted the power but didn't want to do any of the work. I'd be shocked if he's not running things over there within the next 2 years.
-Hiring Kidd was never a mistake. Over the last 4-5 months of the year, he at least proved that he can hold his own and was making progress as the year went on.
-Because of this ***hole's actions, we're set back even further AGAIN and basically just threw away a year of chemistry and player development because this ***hole didn't want to do the work that's required of a Coach anymore. Basically created a huge domino effect because of his BS.
-He burned down any good will he had with this Franchise, especially with The Russians. He was a GOD here in NJ/BK. He could **** in his hand, throw it at The Russian, blame it on someone else and that person would take the blame. That's how loved and respected he was here and that's not hyperbole either.
-As for who I want as Coaching, I don't want a retread and would almost rather go with a College name(I'm already aware that would probably be more difficult to get). This team isn't winning a championship anytime soon, just like they weren't last year which is why I never had an issue with them hiring Kidd to coach. But knowing them, they'll probably go with a retread guy and then in 3-4 years we'll be right back in this situation looking for another coach.
-Bucks fans will support him because they're Bucks Fans first so they'll forgive or look past the crap he's pulled throughout the years. And I get that, you're a supporter of the team in the end and that's all that matters. All I'll say is this in regards to Kidd: Expect the unexpected.
But yeah, this whole "He always wanted to coach Milwaukee" thing: Bull**** 101 at it's finest right there.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 06-30-2014, 03:11 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment
