76ers getting Lin? I'm surprised they never tried contacting Lowry when they had the chance. He's from Philly and everything so I'm sure he would've listened at least. 76ers were actually one team I was thinking Lowry might have gone to if he left Toronto.

            2) Idk, maybe you can tell me better but don't you feel the full max for McSocks was a bit too much?
I think its overpaying, but it's what we had to do in the situation. I think he's a great fit for us though, which would make it easier to stomach.
            3) There are no superstars out there to get. Even if there was you'd have a hard time convincing them to play in Charlotte. Hayward or Stephenson is as close as you can get and I think Hayward makes more sense because you dont have to worry about him being bad mojo AND he's played with Al already.
I never expected us to land a superstar... I just expected us to target an above average free agent that we could realistically land (I.E. Big Al). Whereas, we went after the RFA whose team has basically said it would match any offer put on the table.
Drafting Vonleh and Hairston was a hell of a offseason you guys just made the playoffs too. There still is a chance you can get Hayward or Lance so I think that's pretty good for you guys. ESPECIALLY in the East. If Miami breaks up, y'all are definitely challenging for HCA and division. Depending on Zeller and MKG's development, you may not even need the FA help you think.
I think you're underestimating the impact Josh McRoberts had on this team. Not going to go out there and say losing him makes us a 20 win team, or compare him to a superstar in terms of value, but his passing ability and his ability to orchestrate an offense were HUGE the past 1.5 seasons in helping our sputtering offense have any kind of ball movement. Zeller isn't an awful passer, and I was definitely encouraged with his rookie year, but I don't think he's ready to step in and play 30-35 a night yet, and Noah Vonleh isn't ready to step in and play meaningful time. There is also a lot of positive things coming out about MKG's shot work in the off-season, however I'll believe it when I see it.

I should clarify... I'm not saying we've had a horrible off-season, or that Cho needs to be fired, or anything like that. I just really don't understand our strategy in FA. Talking a big game about acquiring a solid wing, or a 'superstar player' (And we all know it's superstar in the context of Charlotte superstar), and the only guy we've gone after is a guy that is pretty much assured to be matched.

I can't wait to spend the next 3+ days sitting around unable to do anything while we wait on Utah to inevitably match the offer.

This offseason is becoming incredibly frustrating for me. My goals going in were (in no order) 1.) improve the team shooting, 2.) bring back McBob, 3.) find a starting level SG, and 4.) find a backup PG.

              (1) We added Hairston but who knows if he'll even be able to stay out of trouble long enough to make a positive impact. (2) We let McRoberts go and it appears Plan B is Kris Humphries or bust (lol). (3) We're unlikely to get Hayward and if we don't get Stephenson (my hopes aren't high) we'll be stuck with one more year of Henderson (I may lose my mind). (4) Backup PGs are flying off the market and our top target appears to be Brian Roberts (lol). So yeah, this offseason isn't going as I hoped it would.

I think that Hayward is the superior player. I think if you switch situations, and give Hayward the pieces to keep defenses honest that Parsons has, that his numbers would be a lot more efficient.

Plus, I love Hayward's ability to orchestrate the offense, be a secondary ball-handler, and his passing ability is top notch for his position.

Very similar in my opinion, I don't think many people realize quite how athletic Hayward is.

Hayward is a slightly better playmaker, better with the ball in his hands IMO. While Parsons is longer, more consistent shooter. His length could potentially give him an edge with defense and rebounding, but right now I don't think that's the case.

Now. Sources insist Jazz will match—likely 3 days after Hayward signs. RT @billwsimpson: Realistically when would we know if Jazz match GH?

That's one of the Jazz beat writers. If true, Jazz sticking it to the Hornets for the offer by waiting until the very last minute on the clock to match to screw over the Hornets.

This is why I think he's a better fit for you guys, y'all don't really have that outside of Kemba. While Dallas has Monta and could probably make better use of Parsons. I think the signings played into the strengths of both teams, though Utah will probably match.

Gotcha. I just figured it's been a solid offseason so far for the Hornets, granted going after Hayward knowing they'd match didn't make sense. Then again there's always a chance they won't, and even if they do you still have lots of options. I would say Deng would be perfect for you guys, but his age and injury history doesn't make sense for you guys.
I like McRoberts and I'm glad to know he was that big a piece for you guys after watching him be nothing of the sorts with LA, I just feel you may be pleasantly once the dust settles. He definitely is more replaceable than trying to find a star talent.

BTW, would you take the chance on Lance considering 2 guard seems to be the biggest need?

They might get desperate and spring for Lance. I hope not and I want Utah to back down from their stance. Hayward isn't going to help them like e would Charlotte.

I hope Utah is bluffing to try and initiate a sign and trade. Jazz just give up!
