Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
But yeah, there is pretty much no chance he goes to Cleveland. If guys wouldn't sign on to play in Cleveland with LeBron James there, I don't see how they'd ever do it with nobody even close to his talent level there.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I'd say the dark horse to sign Melo is the Heat. He is definitely someone that Miami doesn't need but the friendship he has with LeBron and D-Wade is something intriguing. Of course we're talking about huge pay cuts here, not just from Melo and the Big 3, but from the entire roster.Comment

Saw on Twitter that the Kings were trying to get Kevin Love. Kevin Love & Demarcus Cousins would be an interesting combo if it ended up happening and that would definitely be a great frontcourt.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I just can't see this being something that gets done. Unless Sacramento is willing to offer more assets than teams like Boston, Houston, Golden State, etc. despite the fact that he likely wouldn't resign, he will not be going there. Sacramento can't possibly be that stupid, can they?NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Peter Vecsey reports are Cavs are scared Irving will not accept a max contract extension. That would be a first, everyone accepts the max extension after being a rookie.
The Cleveland Cavaliers might not offer Kyrie Irving a maximum contract offer because they believe he will not accept, according to a report.
The Cavaliers reportedly do not want to look bad if Irving would decline the deal.
Irving is eligible to sign a new contract with the Cavaliers this offseason.

Cleveland is just sad haha. Who the hell DOESN'T even offer a max contract because they're scared it might not get accepted? Just offer the damn contract, man.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
They'll offer him a contract, the problem IMO isnt about offering it, its what type of contract in terms of years and opt outs. Cavs want him to sign a long term deal with no optouts(similar to Rose an Durant I think), not a deal involving an early opt out. Also Vecsey on Twitter said maybe Kyrie told the Cavs he wasn't resigning, so the NBA gave us the #1 pick smh, Id take his report with a smashed grain of salt.Last edited by Cavsfan4life; 05-27-2014, 12:55 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Yeah, that's a stretch. I think he will sign. Don't foresee him turning down all that money, to wait an additional year and take on the risk of getting hurt and diminishing his value.
Cavs have an opportunity to greatly improve this year with only 30ish million on the books for next season.
Resign Kyrie, Draft Wiggins, pick up a guy like Greg Monroe who is a restricted free-agent and you have a core to build around long term and there is going to be plenty of options to replace Deng for much cheaper. Ariza, Nick Young, Granger, etc.
Key is getting a coach. Karl would be ideal, but Hollins and possibly Marc Jackson would also be a good fit for that team.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Wiz are a stealth candidate for Kevin Love — his father, Stan, who played for the then-Bullets in the early ’70s, gave his son the middle name “Wesley,” as in Wes Unseld. And Kevin Love has a soft spot as a result for the franchise. But the trade talk will surely die when the words “Bradley Beal” come out of Flip Saunders’ mouth.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 05-27-2014, 03:36 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Agreed about the coaching, Karl and Holiins would be my top 2. Our cap space this year is huge, but after the Kyrie extension we are going to be limited. Id go Embied in the draft, sign or trade for a SF, and get our PF spot settled. I still think Bennett can be productive at PF, and TT is solid, but he has an extension coming soon too. Getting him to a good deal will be big.
Not a fan of Love to WAS, but wouldn't Beal have to be involved? Id give us a shot if he was willing to sign or at least opt into his deal.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Wouldn't get rid of Beal to get Love if I was Washington. That Wall and Beal combo has potential to be the best backcourt in the NBA for a really long time and Beal is probably the best young shooting guard in the NBA at the NBAs weakest position. Getting Love isn't going to make them that much better honestly and Washington should be focused on finding just better shooters and replacements for Nene and Gortat who are both going to be or are already on the wrong side of 30 as well as continue to have Wall work on that broke *** jumper.Comment
