I really like that signing. More leadership never hurt. Poor KG though lol

As a Celtics fan, the Wiz are one of the only teams I would like to see Paul Pierce play for. I'm just happy he didn't join the Clippers.

So Houston signs Ariza, also rumored to be interested in an expiring, and might match Parsons??

Could they someone use Parsons as a sign and trade to land Boozer or Amar'e or something? If they are in fact interested in an expiring.

Or since Dallas offer was accepted is all that can do match it which makes him unable to be traded..

Too late for a sign and trade since Parsons signed the offered sheet.

That's what I was thinking.. When can he be traded? At the deadline, or does matching give him a no trade clause or something.

If he is on Houston: Parsons can't be traded in year 1 to Dallas at all and any trade involving Parsons until July 1, 2015 has to meet his approval.

If a team matches an offer sheet and retains its free agent, then for one year they cannot trade him without his consent, and during that year cannot trade him at all to the team that signed him to the offer sheet. They also can't trade the player in a sign-and-trade transaction (see question number 91). A restricted free agent's resulting contract (whether with the new team or the contract is matched by the player's prior team) cannot be amended in any manner for one year.
If he is on Dallas: I think this rule below applies

                        95. When can a team trade a free agent it signs? Do they have to keep him forever?

Generally a team only has to keep a player for three months after signing a contract or December 151 of that season, whichever is later. This does not apply to draft picks, who can be traded 30 days after signing (even if signed using cap room in a later season -- see question number 51). For sign-and-trade transactions, the initial trade which completes the sign-and-trade obviously is allowed, even though it occurs right after the player is signed. The trade restriction in a sign-and-trade applies to the first subsequent trade.
See question number 100 for more information on trade restrictions.
<hr class="fn"> <table class="nogrid"><tbody><tr><td>1</td> <td>January 15 if the player is a Larry Bird or Early Bird free agent, re-signs with his prior team, his team is over the cap, and he receives a raise greater than 20% in the first season of his contract, and his new salary is greater than the minimum salary.</td></tr></tbody></table>

So technically they could sign him, and with his consent trade him to Chi or NY?

No there is some other part of the CBA that I didn't quote that would explain that. The only team that can sign and trade him is Houston due to his Bird Rights or something like that.

Dallas could trade him after the middle of December or early January if they want with no restrictions from what I understand.

Pierce has so many random moments offensively. He's been one of the better and more consistent scorers the league has had over the last 10+ years. But he will almost always throw up a couple random airballs, or shots that completely miss the rim but hit the backboard, almost routinely lol. Not wild, contested shots, open ones..

Not really anything that started new with Brooklyn, he's been doing it for awhile.. Doesn't really at all pertain to this conversation about him headed to WAS, just something random about him I've always noticed and thought was sorta bizarre.
