Yes if he's healthy he's a very big upgrade imo.

If they had some consistent shooters on the wings he would be.. Right now I would almost rather have the threat of Holiday's shooting and scoring to run the Davis P-n-R..

It depends what Boston is willing to trade. If they are waning to move Rondo then I'm sure Smart is there PG of the future.. Meaning I doubt they would send him for a package with Holiday. If NOR could get him straight up for Gordon that would be a huge steal, but I'm almost positive it would be a deal that included Gordon, Asik, and someone else.

IF, and that's a huge if, the Pelicans could land Green in return it might be worth it. Boston signed Turner, drafted Young, and still have Wallace. I don't think keeping Green would be an absolute priority for them right now. Pelicans would have to swap Holiday for a decent big though, lots of movement needing to happen.

        - I don't see a realistic scenario where they land Rondo and it dramatically improves that group.. Their best bet, IMO, is to find someone that wants Gordon and is willing to make the risk and trade for him.

I just wanna see him finish and end up in Dallas like he should.

He's definitely had quite the journey over the last year and a half though. From Dallas to Boston to Brooklyn to SacTown to Houston.

Don't know if it's possible but why not send Rondo back to the team that drafted him in exchange for Bledsoe?

Ohh, might be a really good fit for Phoenix as well. Dragic already somewhat transitioned to a SG, Green really came into his own as a secondary scoring threat. Plus drafting Warren..

Wonder if Phoenix has plans of trading Bledsoe and/or Dragic.. They drafted Ennis and signed Thomas. 4 point guards on roster, 3 of them already proven players.

                      Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

I had been thinking of a four team deal between the Celtics, Lakers, Kings, and Pistons.

Lakers gets G. Monroe, G. Wallace, and R. McCallum
Kings gets R. Rondo and J. Smith
Pistons gets R. Gay and R. Kelly
Celtics gets S. Nash, N. Stauskas, R. Sacre and Hou 1st round pick, via Lakers

Lakers make a power move before camp opens up bringing in Monroe who doesn't want to be in Detroit. Byron Scott loves the hard nose veterans(even if their overpaid and a shell of themselves sorry had to) and Gerald Wallace fits the mold. And the get a young back up to Lin.

Kings get a core they can make a playoff push with not only this year but for the life of Cousins, Smiths, and if they can extend Rondo deals. Smith and Rondo are tight and Cousins has called Rondo the best PG.

Pistons benefit from addition by subtraction. Monroe/Smith/Drummond front court won't work. With SVG in the fold he'll likely look to build around Drummond like the Magic did around Howard. In comes Gay who's a much improved player and more importantly a much better 3pt shooter than Smith. Add Kelly who should be the prototypical stretch 4 and spacing around Drummond goes from bad to good.

Celtics are the only team that doesn't become better on the court day one. However if Ainge is smart he's in the business of remaining flexible and stacking assets. This deal put them right on target as they get maybe the best shooter in this past draft and additional 1st round pick next year. They could use Nash as a mentor for a very young team or trade him to a surfire playoff team like Miami who could use him.

Just for discussion sake could you be more specific as to why you think it's a bad trade?

Celtics basically trade Rondo for Stauskus & a late 1st. And Lakers trade garbage and end up with Monroe...

Kings could possibly get Smith for pennies & a pick. Or something along the lines of Thompson, Ben, filler for salary (didn't check numbers)
