Jordan imitated dr j as kobe imitated jordan. Kobe is the best comparison to jordan not because his scoring but the love for the game the love of the pressure and the love to play d. jordan was equal in defence as soorer and so is kobe.

And the biggest reason why the shooting percentages are down and why no one knocks down the open j is because the gm's are looking for all the physical specimens. There are tons of great shooters in college but they wont get drafted. they are too slow or they may be a defencive liability. like tmac,s not a defencive liability. never mind they can bail out your superstar ie mike having paxson or kerr not the best athletes but can shoot. As for kobe needing shaq or shaq needing kobe. dont forget during those loses when shaq was out kobe averaged damn near a triple double. if he did what he did on any other team they would have won. truely the lakers were built around shaq. but the lakers are more dynamic with kobe. They need each other just like jordan needed pippen and pippen needed jordan. dont forget pippen duplicated wins and loses the year jordan retired. they still went to the playoffs with out him. damn the playoffs with out jordan and no center seems to me the bulls team wasnt all jordan the role players were picked for specific talents that maximized the team not just the best athlete that is why scoring went down not all athlete can shoot and not all play d. not all slower athlete can be taken off the dribble consistantly. and the slower athlete usually can shoot because they cant get to the hope. fundamental maximize your strengths and work on your weakness. athlete work the crossover to prefection while slower work the jump shot to perfection. you need something to get you to college. if your jumper needs alot of work you better b able to slash your a$$ off. same with jump shooter worry about getting to the hole latter if they want a scholarship.
Jordan game elevated because of pippen he was a beast on d. guess who guarded jordan in practice. jordan was a beast on d who guard pippen in practice they made each other better.

This is one of the worst posts I have ever read. Do you have any factual evidence to base your opinions? Or are you 15-years old and never got a chance to actually watch MJ play? Did you just say that the players today are more athletic than jordan? And Kobe has more hops than Jordan? And KObe is Jordan's defensive equal? You wreak of fanboyism.
Firstly, Jordan was just as athletic in his prime as the guys of today. Or do you forget MJ dunking from the free throw line, doing the soaring windmill, dunking OVER nearly every center in the league, doing earth-shattering, gravity-defying, hang in the air moves? Do you forget that MJ used to purposely hang in the air longer before he shot so that his defender would land first, sllowing MJ to get an open look?
Also, MJ was one of the best defenders in the league. Kobe's D is not even close to MJ's. You know what? Forget it. Think what you want. I am happy that you are satisfied thinking that Kobe "I scored 11 points in an NBA Finals game" Bryant is the best that ever lived. Everyone else knows the truth.
