Re: I\"m a Laker fan and I have to admit

You know I started this thread, because I could clearly see Sheed getting the shaft from the officials, when it was blatanly obvious on a lay up, in which malone went cutting across the lane to receive the pass, and Sheed was behind him about a couple of feet and Malone lunged into him to get the foul. The ref was standing right there and it was obvious to all in my house watching the game that Malone was going to be whistled for the offensive foul but they gave to Sheed, we laughed and said home cooking, but that doesn't make it right. That was with 3:47 to go in the 1st qt.

Re: I\"m a Laker fan and I have to admit

The way the NBA officiates Shaq is absurd. He creates most of the contact. How can you defend someone when he turns and slams his elbow into your face then runs you over and they call a foul on the defender. You have know choice with Shaq, but to tackle him to impede his progress. Not to mention, he rarely ever gets called for 3 seconds, but if you watch he is in the lane all the time.

There is absolutely no consistency with how the refs call fouls in the NBA. It is all situational. Is the team at home? Is it a star player? Is the player guarding this guy a scrub? It such B.S. to watch NBA games being officiated.

Anyone who thinks Shaq should have been called for 6 fouls in the 4th period should just stop watching. Just write down your excuses for each Detroit loss and get it out of your system. Amazing how many people cry about refs when they lose.

That's where I get the crying statement from. I doubt anyone can find a thread where Laker fans are coming out of the woodworks with referee complaining. Even if there were a few bad calls, i.e. Prince on Kobe, or Ben's flop I never tie that to the outcome of the game. The ref would have to turn into Billy Crystal in that movie before I blame the ref for a loss. That's loser talk. Winners play through the game and try to adjust to the refs, whether it be by taking a technical to make their point and get a make up call, or tweaking the refs between games.

HA! Yeah you wont see Lakers fans crying about calls UNLESS they lose. Otherwise they get the majority of the calls which leads to to winning the game.

You statment is rediculous. Tell that to the Sac. Kings in 2002 when LA had something like 26 FT's in the 4th quarter and teh Kings had like 8. The refs can determine an outcome, why do you think Rip didnt try to jump on Kobes shot?

I am a Laker fan and I just don't see how they can win this series. I'm trying to be optomistic, however, it seems like they really don't care and are bored to be in the Finals. Hell they seem to have been bored for pretty much every game this season. There is no real passion in this team. They obviously win but that is just because of talent and not effort.

Shaq has never been a dirty player like that, he was only trying to break his fall. And obviously the foul looked harsh because Shaq is freakin 350 pounds!

you don't have to be a dirty player to commit a flagrant foul and I bet if shag grabbed u 'round tha neck u'd think it was flagrant too.
