What the hel does ice skating have to do with anything?

figure skating is subjective. It is judged on the grace and form of the competitors.

Basketball is objective. The team with the most points wins.

your assesment of Shaq implies that shooting near 60% 22points 13.5rebounds 3 blocks 2.5 assists in the playoffs this year can somehow be belittled by irrelevant complaints about technique or physical advantage.

    basically subjective vs objective .

I am a dummy so basically you can understand that I was picturing Shaq doing figure skating on your post. Honestly, I have no idea what you are saying.

Re: More Dominating Player: Shaq or MJ?

First of all, it's hard to compare a center to a guard. MJ was a complete player, Shaq isn't, but he maybe doesn't have to. All he has to do is to wait in the paint for the pass, he's a bad defender, and is mostly feared because of his size. MJ was feared because of his unbelievable talent and full array of skills, always took the last shot, was a great defender. For me it's not even close. MJ loved the game, Shaq sometimes looks like he's come to work he doesn't like and is fed up with..

I agree with KDRE here. Shaq is a dominating player but definately but Michael Jordan was never shut down in the playoffs like Shaq was against Hakeem and the Rockets.

I wuold like to say this for the last time-enough compare player threads. I sick of them already Kobe vs Mj, Shaq vs MJ, Lebron vs MJ. Will the carnage ever end?

                  <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

That's also because there was no one like MJ when he played. You can't name one guard that was equal to MJ. Hakeem can be considered as the greatest all around center in NBA history. When Shaq first played Hakeem in the playoffs, wasn't Shaq in his rookie or second year? Can't remember, but I know he wasn't in the league that long when he played Hakeem. I'd hope that Shaq would get owned by a hall of fame center while Shaq was in his first couple of years. You can't even compare that. MJ had no equal, maybe Magic or Bird but they were in their later years. So you can't really use the whole "Shaq got owned by Hakeem" in this instance.

Maybe it has something to do with his issue with Kobe. He has no control over the team with Kobe doing things his own way. But that's how I see it. And I agree Shaq does looks like a person who came there to work, clock in then can't wait to clock out. Kind of uhm, like me with my current job.

MJ had the ball in his hands %99.9 of the time when he played. Shaq has times were the Lakers just won't give him the ball for an extended period of time. Game 4 was a good example against the Pistons. Shaq had 30+ pts and 20 rebounds, he was hot! But then by the 4th quarter, he didnt' touch it at all. Now think, the way Jordan's mentality is, how pissed off he would be if he didn't get the ball for a short period of time (I dont' even want to think about it!).
