If he opt-outs after getting traded to a team, the masses will say he's a punk and just wants the money.

And, for your second sentence... I would like to believe that, but no team can PROMISE they can contend each year. They can only hope that.

Guys, I've come to the conclusion that this deal isn't going to go down. After reading a lot of stuff this morning and last night, the Magic are getting cold feet after getting blasted these last few days and other teams are upping their offers. If Phoenix can be convinced that TMac will re-up with them next offseason, then they will throw in Joe Johnson along with #7 and Marion and this deal will go down. The Magic brass come out looking a lot better making that deal.

That is very true for Orlando, but I was really looking forward to see T-Mac/Yao or at least T-Mac/J. O'Neal. On the flip side, there's always those new hot PHX jerseys, but the question is: with Amare & McGrady can PHX be a contender?

I don't think he's in it for the money, just the chance to be on a team that can challenge in the playoffs and win a title down the road.

As for the contending thing, I don't mean challenging for a championship every time. Just signs that they actually have something they can build on and win something down the road. That would be Houston or Indiane. Phoenix, I'm not so sure about.

Gabriel's getting blasted because he's afraid Francis won't play for the Magic, which is stupid, because Stevie has no choice but to play anyway. But, if he goes with the deal in Phoenix, he'll have a better cast than what Houston's offering.

ORL+HOU = Orlando is screwed, T-Mac goes to a better team
ORL+PHX = Orlando benfits, who knows what will happen
