Van Gundy also likes to work the shot clock. TMac will catch some mean, bloodshot stares from the sidelines if he thinks that he can just stop, pop and pull up for 3s like he did in Orlando.

Its way better than Francis dribbling the clock and shooting an airball.

Anyway, if this does go down, which is more likely now, I don't think Mac will have any problems adjusting to Yao's game. This will benefit him, he doesn't have to shoot as much and he'll still get his points since we all know how good a passer Yao is. No doubt those guys are gonna be a powerhouse for seasons to come, both Yao and Tracy are around the same age, that's like 10 seasons, and unless something horribble happens, I doubt T-Mac would opt-out of his contract after next season.

But will the Rockets be able to resign McGrady. If he doesn't like it in Houston he can just walk, and the Rockets are left with nada.

I think T-Mac has said that Houston is one team that he would re-sign with longterm.

Also, I doubt the Rockets would make such a trade for a one-year rental; if they do it then I would imagine they at least make a serious attempt to re-sign him.

If he likes it there, then, yes. There's no mention of Houston having cap troubles so I doubt that they'd have a hard time signing him. Also, its a risk Houston will have to take if they want to improve the team. Basically, Mac holds the cards and his destiny.

First lets just see if he can co-exist with Yao Ming. Remember, this is a guy who's been playing as an individual player for most of his career. He's never had to actually work with another serious offensive weapon.
